Good morning Pastor . God is good all the time . I am still in awe and excited not only that we find a location that fit our needs in all shape and form . What intrigued me is the way God did it for us. The pastor visited us on a day that we had an event to see all that we need and do . The rush to set up and get ready for the event . Now we have a spot it may not be as big to set up for party but we can do our best . The extra room for children ministry. And it happens right before we had to renew and May be take an increase from the landlord . God disrupt the plan and bring us to a greater height .

Lighting is pretty important for traditional churches too. I used to go to a Lutheran church in Little Rock, AR that had a huge arch in the front with stage lights tucked in just above it in the chancel. Withouts those lights the church is still functional, but the front is pretty dim and it makes it difficult for the Pastor to read the text. Stage lights also can help to emphasize the altar in a more traditional church, which is very important.

Hi Brady, first a confession, I am a traditionalist, open to change (which is why I watch Prochurch), I note that many US churches have some fancy "stages" bereft of a "cross". Where on the "stage" does the "cross" sit on a 'stage'? Thanks, Bill
@prochurchtools6 жыл бұрын
Bill, in my mind, the cross is just a symbol. So if your church greatly values that symbol - go for it! Put it on your stage. But I don't think it need be a mandate for every church to include a symbol of the cross on their stage.

Angela Kelley I am using chauvet bar strip lights for wall washing effects. our pastor not into the lights like flashing and color changing. we do 3 background scenes. 1 all blue plus house darkened. 2. worship team starts. I coordinate the color with the background slides displaying the words. 3. color for message. He was not into moving lights and changing color. Did not want a show. The younger people like what I was doing, but was held back by the pastor. Even though I'm older then him. Make light panels out of this coraplast. watch his video. I liked this idea, but was voted down again. I run sound and lighting been doing this for 25 years plus for other churches and bands. Use white or black back walls. Ours is blue. Gives me a headache for color mixing. Glad to help if you want.

Where do you live? If you're in the US, you can check your hardware stores like Home Depot of Lowes. If that's not an option, check out a local print/sign shop. They will typically have Coroplast to sell in addition to the signage they make.

How do you do the blue fade with the font overlay???
@chandlerelder6 жыл бұрын
What software are you using? Here is a general explanation: Drop a solid blue image over your video so that it covers it completely. Make sure to only add it where you want to see it, which may mean in the middle of the clip rather than over the entire clip. Drop the opacity of the blue image to your liking so that you can still see the subject and then add text over top. To fade, add a cross fade effect on your blue image only and it will fade in nicely.

What do find to be the most important part of a good stage design?
@johntatum80882 жыл бұрын
I do not like the church is a place with a stage idea. I like to see the people all over the building with regular lights everywhere. I do not like the big dark churches...my opinion is a regular traditional church is best. I hope we go back to this and get rid of loud drims and streaming electric guitars. Give me a non-rock worship....with brass, violins and organs.

You shouldn't use substitute curse words, according to The Bible, out of mouth the heart speaks.
@1godquest7 жыл бұрын
I caught that right away. I was surprised he used that word. I guess "loose language" is the trend. I think leaders need to set good examples for the younger generations
@jayhill12427 жыл бұрын
I didn't hear a substitute curse word. I heard the word freaking which is not a substitute curse word. It's a word of it's own. You are implying that he wanted to curse but decided not to and therefore used a curse word which would mean you know his heart. maybe to him it's just the word freaking which is not a curse word. wonder what you would have said if you were there when Jesus called people brood of vipers.

Church in the 21st century...a rock concert/theatrical performance...ugghhhh. Why not just let the word of God be the inspiration?
@prochurchtools7 жыл бұрын
Bill G What are you suggesting? I’m all ears. And I love the idea of alternative models of church.
@billg75317 жыл бұрын
I am saying that churches are more of a performance art than it is about faith and God. Why is it so important to have a proper looking stage design, lighting/sound, and colors? What was wrong with walking into a church and being filled with the Holy Spirit with some simple hymns and then hearing the Word of God. Today, you walk into these churches and they are run like rock concerts and Community Service centers. Book stores, coffee houses, breakfast bars are found in these churches. Instead of letting God put butts in the seats and money on the coffers, churches now feel a need to put on a show, as if you are going to the theater. I often wonder if churches have contests among each other as to who can put on the best Passion Play or Christmas program. Whose children's bible school is the most filled and if there is a parking lot shuttle to wisk people to the front door is more important. Even the title of your KZbin shows this to be the way of thinking... "PRO Church Tools". Sounds more like a title from Home Depot, than it does for a church title.
@prochurchtools7 жыл бұрын
Bill G Not here to disagree, Bill. Plenty of peers my age are opting for more traditional expressions of church for the exact reasons you cited. But I think we need multiple expressions of church and faith. There’s nothing more or less spiritual about lights projected on a stage or screen versus words printed on a hymnal. They’re just different mediums. Same timeless message though.
@billg75317 жыл бұрын
You have simplified my message. It is not just projecting the words of a song on a screen. My issue is that too many churches are trying to turn church into a Broadway performance or some other entertainment production. I recognize why it is being done. Churches are always having to find ways to bring in the younger generation to replace their flocks. What better way than to entice them than with fancy lights, current music, and visual stimulation. A hearty Amazing Grace sung by a choir and congregation, a baptism or two, and a charismatic pastor is no longer good enough to put butts in seats and money in the coffers. It is the era of the "Bedazzled" church scenes. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy all these bells and whistles too. But, I also recognize that these tactics can also take away from the real purpose of the church and the message. Having lived in China for the past 5 years, I see more faith and affirmation of faith in Chinese home churches and small country churches than I have seen in my 40 years of attending various religious churches. It is the message of Jesus Christ and God's love that promotes and grows a church.
@rlcgrandprairie12657 жыл бұрын
There's a place for all of the above. We are not really an ultra modern church but are moving to be somewhere in the middle now with a younger pastor and plans for renovation/updating. Whether we like it or not in this day and age people, especially younger families, may come initially to be entertained. The way we look at it is whatever it takes to get souls in the door and to stay. Then once they are here we have to be able to change them from just being entertained to being discipled.
