Here are a few photos of churches in Chester. Chester is known for the small town with over 100 churches. If they are this popular, I figured they deserve a photo shoot.

I was born in Philadelphia on December 8, 1962. I spent a large part of my childhood in Chester at age three to fourteen. I was raised by foster parents: Ruth and Wilson Harris. One of the children in the foster home was Harry Woodhouse-Harris ( now deceased) who became a pianist for Calvary Baptist Church, which was my childhood church, and various other churches around the city of Chester. I remember Reverend Barber, who is buried at the facade of Calvary Baptist Church and also I remember Reverend Smith and Reverend Witherspoon. I'd say that's the one good thing that Chester has is plenty of great churches. I returned to my birthplace (Philadelphia) at age 14. I now attend Vine Memorial Baptist Church which is located at 56th & Girard Avenue in West Philadelphia. I miss Chester but Philly has way more to offer than the City of Chester. Little did I know , the next time I would be at Calvary Baptist Church would be to attend the funerals of my foster parents. I think my foster mother's nephew, Stephan Roots is now the Mayor of Chester. What a great accomplishment!

Third Presbyterian on 9th & Potter is no more. A mysterious fire consumed it on May 28, 2020. The rubble still sits creating a proper testimony to mishandling of priorities and common sense
