I know this sounds unbelievable but listen to my story. I am a gardener. 3 years ago it was windy day and we were trimming a hedge. Our goal was to make it nice and flat again. Then suddenly my colleague slipped, he lost control over his chainsaw and cut off my ear. Nothing was left of it except for the hole of my ear. Bloodied and scared I prayed to the lord. For 2 years it seemed he did not answer and I lost hope in ever having an outer ear again. I started to doubt the word. I do not know how but about 6 months ago an earlobe had started growing! I could not believe the greatness of the creator. I was so thankful. This is not the end of my story because somehow my earlobe kept on growing and growing. It is a wonder. I am proud to say I once again have my right outer ear as if I never lost it. It is truly marvelous. My doctor did not believe me. But yes.. The lord is merciful!

I know this isn’t the main point of the video, but seeing the medical professionals in this video reminded me of something I’ve learned recently. I’m a brain injury rehab nurse, and when I first started, I was struggling a lot, and my nurse trainer told me that she gets through the hard days by remembering that it’s a privilege to serve those who are sick and at their most vulnerable, and that Jesus served others and washed their feet, so it makes her feel closer to Christ by being able to serve others in this career. I’ve never forgotten that. It’s helped me get through the hard days, and I’ve also noticed how my patients and their families cling to Christ to get them through the hard times as well. I would say that the hospital is an environment where I’ve seen people draw nearer to Christ more than most places I’ve been to in my life (besides church and the temple of course) because when you’re in a place that houses people in distress and pain, it draws them closer to the savior, and that’s one of the biggest reasons God puts us through trials in this life: So we can draw closer to Him and Jesus Christ.

This video is a powerful testimony of the truth of The Savior's Atonement. It made me think in how big His love for us was insomuch that He decided to suffer all of our pain, all of our injuries, all of our worries and all the rest, only because He loved us and He wanted to know exactly how we felt, so He could help us perfectly and in the best way He could. I love my Savior and my appreciation for Him and for all He's done for us and still does, is growing day by day as I ponder all these things.

There's so much that seems unfair in situations like this, but Christ is the difference between pain and relief, between sorrow and joy, between hurting and healing, between grief and gladness, between sin and sainthood. He changes everything and everyone who lets Him in. He's near, never far, and His grace is sufficient to heal every single individual in every single circumstance. I like how this story shows that He's aware of us at all times :)

What comes to mind is what Joseph Smith said about the saints not being exempted from the effects of the calamities of the last days. This act of terrorism is a calamity of the last days. And this family stayed faithful through their testing and I’m happy their loved one recovered.
