Ted continues his discussion with Stephanie Wang in this part 2 video. They discuss the buzzword of stakeholder/shareholder. Optimizing for the stakeholder has changed to include many definitions because in today’s world that includes sustainability or rather ESGP as well, not just profits. Ted and Stephanie discuss what these definitions include and the trade-offs.
Ted then discusses blended finance and how it works to help sustainable goals, so everyone wins. This is because donors / investors have different goals. Stephanie asks Ted about peoples' views towards sustainability, how the views are evolving? And Ted elaborates on this topic. Ted suggests that if you are interested in sustainability, find a role in a company where you can work in sustainability. You may have to seek out that company. Of course, you will likely be changing roles or companies several times while younger, but these positions can be found if that is where you have interest.
