my father worked for Guinness at St James's Gate for nearly 50 years, mostly in the transport section. He started work in ' the Emergency' years and retired in the 1990s. He sadly passed away only a few short years later. It was a huge treat for me as a boy to go into St James's Gate with him on a Saturday morning, on the train to Tara St and then bus or walk down the quays. I can just hear him and his work colleagues in this audio. Also fantastic slides to accompany it. Thanks for the memories and reconnecting me to those times

Perhaps worth mentioning that the photos actually cover a much wider period than 1961 - right up to the 1970s.....

It's not meant to be a slideshow to be honest, the pictures are just a guide to the audio for anyone who is not at all familar with the ins and outs of the CIÉ company or railways in general, the real point of interest is of course the audio, just like a podcast feature.
