Xikar makes fantastic cutters. Cheap some of the basic ones are a decent price. I have one that I have used for a few years with no problems and they are guaranteed for life. Send it in when it’s dull and they will sharpen it for free.

The last cigar i had was a CAO MX2, i usually prefer the double blade cutter but mine is starting to get a little dull so i had to fall back to my V cutter. I'm thinking about buying a colibri for my birthday in June
@j0shll0yd3 жыл бұрын
I have 1 very similar to your favorite, only it doesn’t have the hole in the back. I really like it, but have cut a couple cigars where it ended up cutting off the shoulder causing the wrapper to unravel. So I now prefer my Xikar Xi2. You can see exactly how much of the cap you’re cutting off, it’s clean every time, and always sharp. I’ve been thinking about trying out the Xikar Scissors, but I definitely don’t need them. 😁

@evandeland68674 жыл бұрын
i am a v cut man i tried the straight cut and too much smoke comes out of it and i havent done the punch cut but i feel the draw wont be as good as the v cut but you will get more flavor from the wrapper so to cut this short the v cut is the prefect balance since you get flavor from the smoke and the wrapper and the flavor percentage is even although this is just me feel free to disagree

Cuban Crafters is the best cutter on the market. Anyone can use it, from the new smoker to the seasoned veteran. You don’t have to even think about it when you make the cut. The other major plus is that if something does go wrong with the cutter or it goes dull, Cuban Crafters has a full lifetime guarantee warranty. Great product!!

Did you ever try the aluminum foil trick to sharpen them similar to how it is suppossed to sharpen scissors?
@cutlerylover5 жыл бұрын
yeah but it doesnt sharpen scissors what it does in deburs or kinds of straightens out any minor deformation on the edge on them so it feels sharper or might cut slightly better...remember the scissor edge works similar to ice skating blades its uses a sharp corner to cut instead of a narrow blade so the sharper the edge is the better it cuts...imagine a perfect square of metal the edge would be sharp even though its thick...
@matthewshoemaker99225 жыл бұрын
Ah, that makes alot of sense. I never really looked into how it worked with scissors, nor did I ever try it, but the thought popped in my head driving today

Best cuter I have ewer hawe os XO from Xiar and its beautiful and mechanical. It cuts so efficient and don't make mess. Also its super sharp. I have silver with black blades. In EU that one cost 150 to 175€ but that one is for life, that model is one of most expensive so it can bee 100€ or less but I got it like a gift but that can compare to Cuban cutter or classic v cutter from Xiar its perfect. And gearing ⚙️ is like watch on him. I cut 200+ cigars and its like newe. Also who like mechanical watches will like XO cutter (also is Xiar product so garancy is life time)

I had a Romeo y Julietta Churchill in Cuba a month ago. I quit my pack a day cigarette habit 10 years ago and was hesitant to play with nicotine again. Really hard to quit and I seem hardwired to consume nicotine. Nevertheless, it was Cuba, and I had stayed away from cigars the 4 other times I'd been in Cuba, so I took a chance. Great experience even though the draw was a bit hard. Bottom line; I'm looking at cigar cutter and rating videos and getting ready to sample some more....(sigh).
@DiversifiedMachinist7 жыл бұрын
Mr. Grumpy I smoked cigarettes for about 35 years. I've quit now for 5 years. I smoke 2 cigars a day minimum and never crave a cigarette. They are disgusting but I love cigars. Contain only tobacco, unlike cigarettes.
@mr.grumpy7 жыл бұрын
Agreed, Mr. Strum. It's 2 months later and I've been trying many cigars with an eye to stocking up a humidor during a Cuba trip this coming March. I've had some amazing cigars these past 2 months and the smoking experience has been so relaxing during the summer evenings. You're right about cigars; nothing at all like cigarettes, which are disgusting to me as well. Glad I finally picked up that R & J Churchill last year!
