Lyrics:
Anyone who ever loved, could look at me
And know that I love you
Anyone who ever dreamed, could look at me
And know I dream of you
Knowing I love you so
Anyone who had a heart
Would take me in his arms and love me, too
Who? couldn't be another heart that hurt me,
Like you hurt me and be so untrue
What am I to do
Every time you go away, I always say
This time it's goodbye, dear
Loving you the way I do
I take you back, without you I'd die dear
Knowing I love you so
Anyone who had a heart
Would take me in his arms and love me, too
Who? couldn't be another heart that hurt me,
Like you hurt me and be so untrue
What am I to do
Knowing I love you so
Anyone who had a heart
Would take me in his arms and love me, too
Who? couldn't be another heart that hurt me,
Like you hurt me and be so untrue
Anyone who had a heart would love me too
Anyone who had a heart would surely take me in his arms and always love me
Why won't you

@robertmeadows7508 We're the same age Robert, I was a schoolboy in 1963 when they first played this on 4MK Mackay, Nth Queensland. It stayed my favourite song for a long time. No KZbin or Spotify back then, we just had to listen to what they played. My friend Jeff would hook his radio up to his mum's clothesline to get the Sydney stations at night and I'd ride my bike in the dark over there to listen to a DJ called Mad Mel who played all the good songs.

I have been a Cilla Black fan for MANY years, I first heard her sing, as a teenager...I am now 64 years young and listening to her/ watching these videos is as ' magical' as the first time I ever heard her sing. It IS amazing, I agree. I have dated musicians, have a few musician friends and I am particular about my music, lol. :)

Can't agree more Sufina, the old songs were poetry and much more uplifting than anything written in the last 20 or so years. Cilla didn't get a lot of credit as a singer, but this really shows what a great singer she was. Fortunately I grew up in the 60's; I still think it was the greatest decade for pop music. Unfortunately you can't imagine most of todays "talent" still being around in 10 years let alone having 30/40/50 year careers.

This is my 2nd favorite love ballad of ALL TIME (my #1, Edith Piaf's magnifique "Hymme D'Amour"). The melody is so lyrical, so melancholy, from the piano's plaintive bass notes resembling heart beats, to the haunting horn solo and lush orchestration, and Cilla's voice brimming with angst and raw emotion. I loved how Cilla always sang full out with every ounce of her being - "left her heart on the stage" (like Piaf, Sinatra...all the Great Ones). She sang from the heart and you felt her every emotion. She had such power and versatility in her voice, one moment belting it out to the rafters...and the next trilling as delicately as a bird. She was an AMAZING vocalist, one of the best.

Cilla Black was a real talent who just belted it out with no auto-tune, just a finely honed and powerful voice that gives me chills every time I listen to it! Also, this clip with a full orchestra performing before a live audience is something you just don't see anymore except on some of the amateur talent shows. Further, unlike today's singers, she had all her clothes on! No hot pants or underwear as outerwear needed or wanted!

Cilla Black was a serious singer who established herself here in the Colonies at the very height of the British Invasion, an historic period culminating in 1964 and 1965 which forever changed the face of American popular music. She was among the elite group of original British Invasion artists that included The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Zombies, Manfred Mann, The Hollies, Hermans Hermits, The Animals, Gerry & the Pacemakers, Freddie & the Dreamers, Petula Clark, and Tom Jones to name a few. Cilla Black had a true mystique about her, perhaps it was the full orchestra that accompanied her songs, or her professional, statuesque stage presence, or maybe because Americans saw very little of her (there was only TV !) compared to other English artists of that period. I remember seeing Cilla Black twice during that time. Her performance was riveting and left a lasting impression that, for me, further defined and added class to the British Invasion.

Considering that this was a TV show in London 5-1-66 the fidelity is excellent. The first time I viewed it I assumed it was lip-sync because the music was so good. Then you see the orchestra of George Martin. See more of them when you watch her other song in this performance. Not bad for a girl who was the coat check girl at the Cavern in Liverpool. Not a chance it was lip sync because she comes in at completely the wrong place and the band has to readjust to get with her. It's adorable the crestfallen look on her face as soon as she realized she's stuffed it up, and then when the band fixes it she smiles over at them. So cute.
