often when children/young teens “wish” they had trauma or abuse it is a sign of emotional distress (ex. depression, anxiety) in other words, they might wish their lives reflected the emotions inside their head, thinking that would make said emotions “valid”

@jollyquinn4304 ай бұрын
Thats not true. Many people say that. It's a sign for depression, anxiety, trauma, etc. Because people think that something even worse would validate their feelings. Without it, they feel like they're overreacting. And it doesn't make sense. So they wish for abuse to make their feelings make sense.
@Barkbite9Ай бұрын
Not always... I was badly abused and traumatized as a child but told it was normal, as many children are. I spent my childhood and teen years wishing I had been "abused" because then my suffering would be noticed, because the environment I was in either ignored my pain or told me it was my weakness that was at fault. I think that kind of "invisible" trauma from normalized abuse is very very common in Irish families and in Catholic schools. Cillian went to a school that is infamous for harsh discipline and he reportedly got in trouble a lot, so I can't imagine he escaped unscathed. He probably just thinks it's normal and no big deal because no one around him reacted to it.
