Even given the lack of depth at OT past Round 1, I wouldn’t feel as skeptical about the Bengals tackling a Tackle day two…if not for the fact that their last 2nd round Tackle pick was Jackson Carmen….please Lord don’t let something like this happen again. I’m all in on taking a Tackle Round 1, Mims or Guyton if they’re there. NT can come day 2 or 3. I know people are freaked out about Sweat…but given the Reader void I’d take him in a heartbeat considering he’s the only NT who remotely has the size to be a cog like Reader was.

There is a DT from I do believe Northetn Iowa that I saw while doing mock drafts and honestly I’m no scout but his frame and stats he has a good grade would be curious about him but I’m always a fan of small school guys but got to have good character that’s all I care about if your good at football gotta have good character too. If the first tier tackles are gone by 18 go DT and bundle 49 and 80 to move to late day one to get your choice of OT amongst the next tier of guys. Keeping Joe safe is priority #1. Look at all the franchises who go decades between great QBs. Finding them is tough so if you shorten Joe’s career due to repeated injury you can be looking at a long drought after him, potentially.

People need to stop sleeping on Evan Anderson out of FAU. He's a very underrated nose tackle. Yes he's short at 6 feet tall but he gets leverage, eats blocks, he don't stop until the whistle. He played nose and would be a solid depth guy who can rotate and be a factor because he can pass rush as well as play the run. He beats centers one on one and can take on double teams to free up the rest of the line. I can see him being drafted in the 7th round or being an UDFA along with Hayden Hatten the vertical threat who has a great profile out of Idaho. Those are my top two hidden gems everybody is sleeping on and just might become stars or play significant roles in the NFL

Mims low floor high ceiling is not worth the risk. Especially with their recent struggles drafting OTs.

Just look into it. Mims has a very high ceiling. He moves well and seems technical. His only knock is that he needs experience, which is why we also have trent brown. hes not injury prone, just wrong place wrong time. hes less bust worthy than Latham

Big problem if the Bengals have to develop an offensive tackle. Over the last 4 years, the Bengals haven't been able to recruit a successful tackle,( as James said: stop-gap players) or to develop players they drafted.

That would be monumental! Solomon Wilcots has said Brock is a generational player! Dave Lapham asked Solomon: What where the Bengals' chances for landing him? Wilcots suggested most TEs go in the 2nd round, although the great ones like Gronk and Simpson went early. OJ was numero uno and I think Gronk was drafted at number 12. Regardless, these are the exceptions to the general rule. So, in Solomon's opinion there's an outside chance. If they really want to snatch up Brock Bowers, they're going to have move up in the draft picking order. What's the chances the Bengals will be so adventurous? Well, they did for CamTaylor-Britt!
