Proved to be all the Reds needed as they shutout the Expos, John Denny with the one hit-win, going 6 innings (was replaced by right-hand reliever Ron Robinson in the 7th) Denny giving up only 1 hit, while striking out 6 and walking only 2. Robinson earns his 7 save of the season, and Dennis Martinez with the loss
