My effort to gain knowledge of this man led to my own enlightenment 8-9 years ago. I can only describe it as the acceptance of life as it is at this very moment and the knowledge that everything is exactly as it should be. There is no need for further questions. I still listen to this to maintain my sense of peace in my own life. I hope all can experience the peace that I have felt and know to be the true self. 🙏

appreciate the willingness to use the word 'enlightenment' and face the perception of others having said that about oneself. also thank you for sharing a description of the state/being - many would shy away from this, for reasonable reasons. please share what kind of meditation practices have worked for you if you don't mind sharing, thank you.

I've been watching KZbin videos nearly everyday for 17 years. This video is the most educational and at the top of all documentaries I've ever watched. It reveals the fixed point that we keep ourselves away from our entire lives. Thank for you sharing this with all of us. I will watch this on repeat for now on.

I am so stunned to find this film show up on YT just now on my morning “check in” with coffee. My dear friend and psychic Michael Hillary Hughes was a devotee of Ramana Maharishi and quoted him often. Michael passed away many years ago and at 75 I would imagine I will see him in the next few years unless he’s jumped back in the game already. Ships that pass in the night. Love and blessings to all here.

I first saw Bhagavan in a photo in a book. I was only 13. I opened it and read that all people desire happiness and my soul said, “Yes!” Bhagavan is the sweetest, purest, gentlest, truest truth teller I know. Excuse my clumsy words; language can’t convey the bliss I feel/am seeing this video, and the truth it contains. May all beings have peace 🙏🌹❤️

Hi CINEFX PRODUCTIONS ! First, thank you for this fantastic movie that opened a new path from me...... I was wondering : from where is the incredible music we can hear during the movie (not the flute, the ambient one), in the introduction and at various moments ? Was it composed exclusively for the movie ?
@cinefxproductions
@cinefxproductions 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Seb Nic. Yes the music was specially composed for the film by the film director who is also a sound designer. He used an enormous amount of instruments in the opening to create a “Brahma drone”. Various Choirs of Mellotrons - Virus T1 maps. Indian sample instruments. Also recordings in the hall. He worked for almost 6 months to produce that single track. Few notice the amount of work and the quality in it. Thank you.

Glad to see this have so many views. I am often shocked how very few people in my life have heard of this man and his teachings. I bought one of his books 7 years ago after becoming interested in yoga and kept it on a shelf for 3 years before opening it. I was meditating once and saw it on my bookshelf. I opened it and read reality in 40 verses. To say it changed my life would be an understatement.

Veritaspublishing Dr Hawkins was a scientist and psychiatrist and he had a near death experience as a child and then he studied psichiatry and Ramana Maharshi and then he had the full Enlightment Recognition of his Self! He then talked about it and explained it in his books. Eye of the I - also epic book.

This documentary found me. Few days ago I heard "JNANI" during a meditation, I didn't bother looking it up. Then, this documentary came up in suggestions. In fact this comes the more I'm into the multiple realizations that truly everything is maya, mental projection of the eternal Self. The real peacefulness comes from the void - where paradoxically we realize the fullness of Being. Within this void everything becomes clear and peaceful - where nothing happens and all those phenomena that happen are realized being projections of one of the layers of Self.

Sri Ramana has thought me what i have been searching for. After watching almost 10 years of spiritual stuff, he is the one who pointed me towards the majestic, respectful and great self who my body and mind are at his presence and attendance. My body and mind from now on will honour the great self/soul. Thank you Maharashi and thank you wonderful souls who have made this documentary.

from what i learned from many authentic books (Siddha Vedam, Vipassana, WHO am i, Iam That etc) and research into what is really 'getting aligned in true lineage path', ramana has no compromises !! he doesnt not value experience of light, subtle nadis, astral travel, oval shaped big sphere around body, foretelling, having power over substances, alchemy, kundalini rise etc. ramana's teaching is direct path, a national high way to Self only to Self as complete Queiscence, impersonal Consciousness, impersonal presence rather than Self as states of consciousness, experience of crores of light power, sahasrara, lalitha tripoora sundhari in tanthric syllabus etc which may be the high altitude point of mind, uyir or subtlest conscious-energy (shakthi aspect) but still *not beyond the mind*. he doesnt see them or rank them as *spiritual progress* !! ramana's way is beyond mind (conscious-energy). ramana's way is pure shivam ( 'pure Consciousness' ie the underlying truth of all possbl states of consciousness). according to him effortless shanthi, grounded silence is the begining and imperturbable, rippleless, deepest Shanthi, when not even an iota of 'i' exists is the ultimate. ramana and other true jnanis doesnt allow shivam( 'pure Consciousness' ) in them to get converted into shakthi (mind or 'reflected consciousness' or say 'conscious-energy' ) from where appearance of biological body ('gross unconscious energy') emerge. only when someone comes to him, out of misery and if he puts a question to relieve himself , ramana allows the progression in him from 'pure Consciousness' to 'reflected consciousness' and finaly to 'gross unconscious energy'. this is why devotees of ramana who met him say that when they ask a question , ramana stares at them which seemed effortless, for long time and after 10min or sometimes even half an hour he comes to his body level and answers the question. Shivam = 'pure Consciousness', beyond high and low or say fundamantal of high low = Self, Atman, Shanthi, Wisdom. Shakthi or Vishnu = 'reflected consciousness', Intelligence, several states of consciousness from low to high = mind, Uyir, Prana Brahma = 'gross unconscious energy' = biology, deham. they are not gods or persons. they are concepts to explain the progression of life from Consciousness to biology in our moment to moment experience. therefore creation and destruction , back and forth happening on the screen of Consciousness. to become aware of this maya progression, the basic instruction for a disciple is to increase the "degree of concentration on a single thought" !!

When U G Krishnamurthy asked Ramana, " I want to have what you have" - Ramana said -- "I can give you, but can you receive it " --- this is by far the best explanation from Ramana Maharishi about enlightenment. -- the beauty of this conversation is --- What Ramana had to offer was silence --- but nobody can receive silence because they can recognise sound but not silence.

What a Blessing to the World Bhagavan is and what a Blessing KZbin is to bring it to us. Paul Brunton, who knew Bhagavan and introduced him to America, said it like this. "Go inside to abide in the stillness as much as you can and forget you are there." The story of how Mose's face shined like the sun after spending time with Yahweh on the mountain and the Israelites had to cover his head is an example of what happens when we go into the silence and stillness every day and when it is time we will also be like Bhagavan is. The Presence will awaken us to our True Self.

Maharishi goes much deeper into the understanding of the self than anything else I have read. Usually most spiritual teachings lead you to an understanding that your true essence is awareness prior to identification with form, the realising of the false self, the ego and finding solace and peace in the knowledge that all your suffering is illusory. Like The Four Noble Truths in Buddhism which explain the suffering in life and how to approach extinguishing the flame of suffering through wisdom and meditation. But incredibly Maharishi goes so much deeper into the realisation of self. Actually it makes me feel quite uncomfortable but there is a certain resonance of truth in what he points to. He truly was a remarkable man and in this age of deceit with so many false gurus out there profiteering on the resurgence in eastern spirituality his message remains as relevant as ever.
@chendaforest
@chendaforest 4 жыл бұрын
Agreed. The simplicity and universality of his message is appealing, indeed as David Godman points out self inquiry is not even a religious practice. But it is a somewhat unsettling idea, but one which intuitively feels true.

People around me were surprised as if how long will I take to finish such a small book.. but they were ignorant what was happening inside me.... It changed me and the Self in me got what he was looking for.

Just happened to be reading Be as You Are when this film was found today, absolutely love it, the film and the book/teachings. Must not have been ready when i was younger and came across Sri Ramana Maharshi's teachings, it is so plain and simple, yet profound. No longer can one say "I am a seeker". Could not help but to chuckle after hundreds of books, esoteric studies and paying dues in an Order. So mote it be. 🔱💚🙏

This ego mind that I most of the time refer to as "I", started learning about Advait Vedanta 4 or 5 years back. After some time through MOOJI, I was introduced to PAPAJI and SHRI RAMANA MAHARISHI. And the process of Self-inquiry has grown deeper and deeper in this "I". There hasn't been a day in these past years where I haven't been thinking about these teachings and self-inquiry. I have grown very calm and peaceful as a result. And I just feel it is so wonderful, that life has conspired to teach me this beautiful perspective. Gratitude 🙏 from the bottom of my heart goes to all the people who are seeking and who are teaching this beautiful perspective.

First saw a vid about Ramana spring 2011. Ordered 2 books that summer. Read parts of them and would think about the stuff in them every now and then and one day October 2013 it all just hit me as I was stuck in traffic listen to Doom Metal (Electric Wizard) Just had a random thought, then asked myself "to whom are these thoughts occuring?" Obviously, the answer was "to me" and once i answered, everything just got quiet and I understood everything and just started laughing at how the "enlightenment" I'd been searching for had been there the whole time. It's just easy to overlook because we are all so used to it. It's like if we were all fish who could talk and I was trying to explain what water is to you. It's just so ubiquitous to us both that we'd overlook it. Assuming we have never jumped up into the air, we have nothing to compare water to. That enlightenment experience was the exact same feeling I'd get while dancing on LSD back in the 90s when all thoughts would go away. The way I described it back then was being "hyper aware". But this time since I had read about Vedanta I could put words to it easier. And now I'm the years since I've gotten way more into Vedanta and the Upanishads and they all make perfect sense. It still hard for me to get back to that state, intellectually, I know I and always that. But it's just hard for me to meditate. I've gotten there several times while running Tldr: it only took me 2 years from seeing a vid of Ramana to realize the self. A very casual 2 years at that
