@eyedesyn3 ай бұрын
In the Random effector you can use negative random values so youd need to set it up as -180 to + 180 and it should work. Also, you need to unclamp the Fields too so it can go those negative values

Can you explain how you set up the cloner for the hemispheres? I have tried almost everything and cannot get the hemisphere to clone well as a child of a cloner.
@elingrome5853 Жыл бұрын
for anyone else with same prob, I found a workaround, not sure if its the "right" way: u need to use cloner > object mode and cube as the object, with distribution set to polygon centre... u may then need to change the tweak the axis of the hemisphere to point it in the right direction

How did u do the random color part. 3 different hemis in the cloner w/ different colored textures? But then they are all positioned in same place on the cube. Or multi-shader w/ 6 hemis and cubes randomly rotated 90 degree increments?

@DJWeekly3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! How did you set the first hemisphere cloner to get the one single hemisphere perfectly cloned into the cutouts on the cube. First hemisphere cloner settings please? Stuck at that stage.
@DJWeekly3 жыл бұрын
Basically I feed the hemisphere cloner (in object mode) the holed-out cube and tell it to fix the hemispheres to the cube's polygon center but it makes WAY too many hemisphere clones. And I see no option with object mode to limit amount of hemisphere clones to 6, which is how many hemispheres we need to go forward.
@biltongjoed3 жыл бұрын
Brilliant stuff. Making the move from Maya to C4D for exactly this kind of thing. However, I need help. How did you clone all 6 hemispheres into one cloner and have them all rotate on the correct axis when they respond to the plain field? I have exhausted my creativity looking for a solution to this. It's not explained in the Tut so any help would be greatly appreciated.
@ItsXDaniC5 жыл бұрын
I'm not a C4D user but I'm familiar enough with it. I know it's super basic but I can't adjust the cloner like yours is on the start. I either have the hemi instances on the faces in object mode but can't orient them or 4 instances in the right place with the radial mode.

can you so a video where you compare FK and IK in cinema 4d? like when you would use one over the other or if there are other ig methods you would use for a character... i never really got why you spline IK. i for sure thought IK and FK should be parented to geo as an expression of the geo motion, why use a spline sometimes? sorry if offtopic

@eyedesyn When I apply the PosY Plain effector to both cloners they move up 200cm together, but when i apply the random field to that Plain Effector they break apart and the hemispheres don't stay with the cubes. How do i fix this?
@eyedesyn3 жыл бұрын
make sure the axis centers on the hemispheres are centered to 0,0,0 just like the cube, if they are offset they won't follow along

Hi, thank you for your great tutorial! and sorry I have some silly questions. I use R20 Lite version but there are not many functions that I should use. For example, I can't find 'Cloner' in MoGraph tab. There are only 'Effector' and 'Fracture'.. that's all I have in MoGraph tab. And I can't find 'Extrude' and 'Inner Extruder' either. I think my C4D is toooo SIMPLE!! Do you know why it happened in my C4D? What should I do to fix it? Can you give me an advise for me? I'm a super beginner.. Thank you!

They're not in Lite because it's the Lite version! :) To be able to have all these nice new features, you'll need to get the full version!

Does anyone one know where the "Source" falloff under the Falloff tab is in R20? Or what replaced it? I can't find it anywhere or anything resembling it?

It's gone and replaced by simple draggin and dropping the object you want to use as a falloff into the Fields list.

Because the effector system is totally different from R19 to R20, so this workflow wouldn't apply to how it is done in R19

Oh nice, glad to see it works! :)

Hey man! I havent installed it yet due to so many training tutorials I've been doing (i think it may be easier for users to see it with the default theme)
@HoiYahhh6 жыл бұрын
After playing around some more it actually doesn't react too well to the new fields stuff. It'll cause c4d to lock up if the theme is being used and anything field related is opened.
