Cinema 4D Tutorial - Particle Outgrowth Effect HD
In this Cinema 4D Tutorial, Eugene will go over creating an outgrowth effect, where ivy-like patterns are being generated with particle path tracing technique.
You will be using core standard particles to see how with just a few steps you can make it generate animation that resembles chaotic organic growth. You’ll also learn how to control particles more directly through mograph with some help of substitute objects such as a matrix. A matrix enables us to feed particle positions to a cloner object.
Lastly, we’ll render the effect and transfer it into After Effects to create some simple overlay lens flares as well as set up post-motion blur, which allows us to save a lot of render time.

at 18:42 when I add the hair material I don't only get the hairs that go around the ball but also a thick bunch of straight vertical hair that just goes up across the ball, without colliding with it

HELP - My tracer material doesnt seem to be working. I cannot see the small spheres or my tracer lines in Render despite both of them having materials on them>?

While rendering as preview in c4d everything looks great, but after rendering and saving it as AVI i get straight lines that come from emiter and go pass my colider sphere and through the collider sphere. What can be a problem? I must say that there are also trace lines and curves like they should be but where did these straight lines come from. They are also in HAIR color.

hey is there a free version of Cinema 4D? like a student or learners variant.

there is a free student version, what you need for it is a C4D 'access code' though and they have you sign up as an instructor unlike the autodesk products for students. I know the student version has the same functionality as the studio version (advanced lighting/render, hair, sculpting tools) but its only valid for a year and a half and doesn't work with plugins that require a C4D serial though that last bit likely isn't very relevant to students
