Why has no one pointed out that the salt water fish consistently fell into freshwater? The tank with the toy fish and the mop bucket, for example. It takes like 2-5 minutes for a saltwater fish in freshwater to start getting disoriented and float almost lifeless on their sides. Those fish should have been confused and weak, and then died in that freshwater.

There are any other number of ways she could have gotten into that tank that would have been move believable. Blue Tangs and Clownfish are both saltwater fish, and there are many incidents where they are in freshwater for a good amount of time (the coffee maker, the destiny bucket, the sippy cup, the toy fish tank, the cleaning bucket, etc..). 2. 15:02 The first time all of the fish got thrown to the tank one left of where they were before, what would happen to the fish on the very left? I guess it’s notable that saltwater fish can still be left in freshwater for a good few minutes, it’s even semi-common practice to give livestock for home aquaria a 5 minute freshwater dip to get rid of parasites! And yeah they were certainly in there for more than 5 minutes, but the accepted maximum is 10 minutes, and I doubt they were taking hours on end between “breaks”.

I totally agree with everything you've said, even though I loved this movie. However, I have to admit that the scene where they pan out and the tire is completely surrounded by seashell trails made me cry like a baby. I was home from college for a little while and visiting my family, after having done really poorly for yet another semester. I sat in the theater with one parent on each side and just burst into tears at that moment and hugged them both. So, despite all its flaws, man this movie is super touching to me. (Anyway, there's the story no one asked for today, but I felt like sharing.)

I really hated how much of this movie was above water like?? You didn't HAVE to write a movie about fish. But you did, so... shouldn't you use that as an opportunity to actually be creative with the setting? I guarantee they didn't do EVERYTHING in the first movie - that was just one coast of one continent. There's a lot of ocean out there guys, and you could have given time to actual plot and character instead of giving fish incredibly lucky windows to move from one tank to another. We had a whole suspenseful tank-break in the first movie! They already did that!

Also, Marlin and Nemo shouldn't be alive in the tank in front of the toy store, since it isn't seawater and is just freshwater, unless if the movie's clownfish were genetically created from the lab to tolerate freshwater, even so, Marlin and Nemo should have been catapulted into the aquarium with the clam in it, but I guess it is just a kids movie.

Salt water fish cannot live in fresh water for extended periods of time or vice versa. If im correct they feel the effects just a few minutes afterward. Its basically why you never see clwonfish swimming upstream into lakes. But the water that they were in in that bottle wouldve had to be fresh water as you cant drink or rather shouldnt drink saltwater

I'm a marine biologist. As a kid, Finding Nemo actually made me want to learn more about the ocean and help the animals in it. Now as an adult, this movie's near constant ignorance of science just causes me hell at work and has perpetuated or created SO many inaccurate ideas about the ocean. My coworkers and I all agree that baby Dory's cuteness is the only thing we can appreciate about this movie.

Three biggest sins in this movie for me: 1) In multiple scenes a saltwater fish is put in freshwater and somehow still lives 2) Dory learns how to "speak whale" from a whale SHARK. Whale sharks aren't whales Pixar!!! 3) Fish that lived in a tank in Australia go all the way to California in a year and still survive without having had any food to eat, clean water, and somehow avoided being eaten
