I'm pretty sure Peter's plan was to have people sneak into the castle, open the gates, and ambush them at night while they're asleep, but Caspian ruined the plan by going on a personal revenge trip to Miraz's bedroom, so Mira alerted the army... The sneak into Miraz's bedroom is not part of the plan
@Statalyzer
@Statalyzer 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah the movie was pretty clear on that, the plan didn't involve confronting Miraz directly at all, but to sneak attack them at night on the logic that they had sent the whole army out towards the forest and left their castle relatively undefended.

I don’t know why this line gets ignored, but outside the Professor’s window, Peter says something like, when they’re planning, “You (Caspian) get to the gatehouse. You (Susan) and I can handle Miraz.” The plan was for Caspian to go open the gatehouse while Peter and Susan went and captured Miraz, presumably with directions to the royal quarters from Caspian. But Caspian messed it up upon finding out his father was killed by Miraz and since he knows the palace well he got there first

@@Sol-Amar It was 'written' better...as in the book! I'm a big narnia nut since I was a kid (see my username!). Read the series more times than I can count. Thoroughly enjoyed the first movie. This one, IMHO, was not so good. I really disliked the drastic change in Peter's character from the book and the utterly unnecessary invasion of Miraz' castle. While I get the powers-that-be wanting a "strong woman" character, I'm not sure Susan was right for it. In the books, she was a real softy and hated hurting anything. In the movie's she's Susan Warrior Princess.

If this were a deeper though out movie, I'd argue that Peter was purposefully stalling the fight because if he killed King Miraz right away, the Telmarians probably wouldn't keep their word and attack anyway. But since this is the Narnia movies, this is just another sin.

I know it's just silly nitpicking on the part of Cinemasins for our entertainment, but it's actually good practice to check your gear before going on whatever adventure you're embarking upon. Whether it's swords, guns, tools, etc. it's better to make sure what you grabbed is good _before_ you need it. Inspecting the sword to see if it had nicks, rust, and whether it was well fitted in the scabbard is sensible.

It does, to their cousin Eustace and others, and I like that: a sort of "inheritance" of responsibility for Narnia's fate across many different figures and ages -- including, finally, a distant descendant of Caspian! (The last book would be very difficult to film, though.)

true, but the third one still has the two youngest and adds there cousin (and the movie version even has cameos by susan and peter). The 4th one has caspian, and his son, returns the cousin. The 5th is technically a prequel so it'd be kinda hard to have them in that one. 5th one has them be encountered when they are older which by the time they filmed it would've been pretty easy to pull off, and i imagine they've have given them a bigger part. I'm mostly will always be annoyed they didn't move forward with silver chair and magician's nephew. We never got an "end" to the three with Prince Caspian and even though it's the 2nd to last in order it would've felt far more like a functional franchise end, even if they did the prequel afterwards.

For the record, McGann was actually a great Doctor, his 8 minute special in 2013 was spectacular and he's contributed more to Doctor Who lore outside of the main show - mainly through incredible audiobooks with Big Finish - than any other Doctor!! Ok rant over 😂 appreciate the reference all the same, along with this looong awaited video!!!

The song "Waiting for the World to Fall", written by Jars of Clay for the previous movie, was great as well -- probably more appropriate for _The Last Battle_ which will never get filmed, however.

I loved the Narnia series so much when I was young, but my gosh was this movie infuriating. They completely decimated Peter’s character. The night raid was so dumb. That did not stop me from buying all related merch and the movie 6 times when it was released though.
