Video FaQ: About Captain Marvel being sad about Fury: "she's sad about him and not about yon-rogg because he was the first to treat her as an equal. Yon-Rogg kidnapped her and lied to her about it." Yes, but given he was her mentor for 6 years I'd still expect her to be upset about it when facing him. On the other hand they really didn't build that relationship between her and fury. They quipped at each other for a while and then went their separate ways. If the movie had actually put any effort in to building a connection between the two of them then this would be fine. About the snap bringing people back in the same place: "In Far From Home we see people reappear in the middle of a basketball game, confirming that people appear in exactly the same place" Except those people WERE safe. They weren't in planes when they were snapped, or anything like that, there's no reason for them to have appeared anywhere else. This confirms nothing!
@BurrtyTheBard5 жыл бұрын
She didn't kill Yon-Rogg. If Yon-Rogg were dead/she had to kill him then yes it'd be totally bullshit that she didn't shed a tear for him. ALSO: THAT Nick Fury is Talos, who Capt Marvel helped to the other side of the universe with the rest of the Skrull; it's totally possible she knows that, especially since the real Fury is currently in space (Capt Marvel's turf), since it's been about 20+ years since the events of Captain Marvel, we can't know what she's since been through with Talos and/or Nick, all we know is she is sad. ALSO ALSO: She could just be emotional... in general? 50% of all life died, she might have lost a bunch of other people, but the Russo Bros only showed us Fury because: A) They want the audience to know Fury is gone (if they didn't watch the IW post-credits) B) There aren't many characters that we as the audience know she has ties to (You'd only know about Maria and her daughter if you watched CM, and it'd be a lot to explain in the 2 seconds shot they use to show Nick's face) Overall it'd be kind of weird if she just looked super chill while counting the dead, it'd make her seem very detached and cold.

Technically, CinemaSins is a group channel, and Jeremy himself always referred to two key members in the Everything Wrong With CinemaSins video. Given how many writers there are nowadays and how unclear it is who made each sin, it's best to refer to the narrator as Jeremy himself quite literally has the final say on each line while it is being recorded, otherwise it would not actually be able to make it into the video during editing. You know, due to the lack of audio.

Ehh, I don't think it's unreasonable for Carol to...look a bit sad that Nick Fury is dead since they _did_ become friends, he wasn't just "some guy" to her. Surely if you spent a short amount of time working with someone and became friendly with them you'd still be a _little_ sad if you found out they died, even if it had been 20 years (actually, do we know for sure that Carol never came back to Earth between her movie and Endgame?). Also, I don't really think it's apt to compare her being sad a friend died to her not being super emotional about her mentor turning out to be a dick (I do somewhat agree with what you've said before, that Carol learning the Kree are bad and turning on them should've been a bit more of a "thing" for her but I thought it felt a bit contrived for you to bring it up in this instance).

@@PlayerZeroStart realistically, if they sent Nebula to New York, Thanos would still notice since the wormhole would allow her signal through. At some point I decided that instead of "enjoying" all the nitpicks and "sins" in the movies I'd rather just watch and enjoy the movies, so I had to tell my friends (who caught up with the fad) to stop sending me links to CinemaSins, because it's pointless nitpicking and bitching about non-plotholes. Because it is (a lot of the times) a case of "I have 3 explanations to this 'sin', but the movie showed none, so boo-hoo". I remember the case of Doctor Strange and countless questions like "why didn't Dormammu just grab the Time Stone and then killed Strange?" and my counter question is "why do you assume it didn't happen and taking away the stone didn't solve the problem for Dormammu but restarted the loop?". Seriously, the movie should show 50 different scenarios of the time loop just so that one asshole will ask about the 51st scenario. And in case of the Engame support group that's just fucking low. You know there's a scene in "The Boys" where they go to see support group for people hurt and maimed by superheroes, I sure want an entire spin-off story about how the guy who got his dick frozen dead while having sex with a superchick starts a support group and hands out pamphlets. Jeremy's issue with the whole "exactly 50%" thing is even more pedantic than you've mentioned: How many planets has Thanos culled in his lifetime? Apparently he's over 1000 years old. Let's say he's decimated 10,000 planets in that time (quite generous). There are 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 planets in the observable universe. So Jeremy and people who complain about this are complaining about a 0.00000000000000000001% discrepancy of population.

you say "finally a good nitpick" at 6:13 but you've cutted the moment where he talks about the rat scene, where it says it make no sense, witch you don't deny because you didn't put it in the video to add 1 sin. so when they talk about the rat it's a valid nitpick too

8:00 Actually the quantum realm in this movie was stupid, because Ant Man said he was in there for 5 hours while the world moved ahead 5 years, yet he was able to communication with Hope in the Ant Man and the Wasp End Credit scene, if the time gap is that big communication shouldn't even be possible. Also Time in the Quantum Realm still moves forward not backwards so cinema cins has a point here.

Thebirdman has a better explanation as to why this is a dumb sin in his video
@BWMagus2 жыл бұрын
If I'm understanding it correctly, the point is that one can move through time in the quantum realm--there is no time gap at all. It's like if you could open a door and enter a hallway of other doors, and each one connected to a different time--you could come out tomorrow or 1000 years from now, but for YOU, it's just the few hours it takes you to find the right door.

@@BWMagus But if there is no time gap then why did 5 years feel like 5 hours? Either the quantum realm moves faster than the rest of the world (which means Antman can't talk to hope with that in that end credit scene) or Antman was in there for 5 years and it felt like 5 years which means he should be dead.

Eh Jay. It's not really that hard of a decision to turn against the man who shot, kidnapped, and lied to her. It's not even the same situation as Gamora who was raised from childhood by Thanos. Danvers' memories were mostly fabricated and her real ones had came back to her by the end of the movie. As for her being sad over Nick fury. Fury was one of the only real human connections she had left. I'm sure the Endgame scenes being made before the CM movie was made played a role in how it plays out but loosing Fury is really Carols personal stake against Thanos( given how clunky her introduction to the MCU is)

Yes she should be sad about turning on the guy who murdered her mentor and brainwashed her into serving genocidal maniacs. You know you shouldn’t use the hypocrite lableif you can’t prove you aren’t one too. Because this prooves your ignoring scenes where she does react to it and context just to jump on the “captian marvel is bad” bandwagon. Captain marvel isn’t perfect but it is still a pretty good marvel movie and there IS a clear arc for Carol in this movie amd I saw plenty of personailty too.

I'm gonna sin your Captain Marvel sin - you often get on CinemaSins (and rightfully so) for sinning pure assumptions they have no evidence to support either way, but you just did that here. You have *no idea* how much she and Fury have seen or talked to each other over the years since her movie, they could've talked every single week for all we know. But you're sinning it and mocking it for your own baseless assumption that she's had zero interaction with him beyond what we saw in her movie that occurred decades earlier? Seems kinda hypocritical man.
@katthemischievous21675 жыл бұрын
Due to the distortion of time when travelling at light speed or close to it, It would not be 20 years for captain marvel. Fury also didnt give her a reason to hate him. Also people can build relationships faster with different people.

13:47 Why do you hate that captain Marvel got this scene? I'm personally not a big fan of the character either, but everyone, including captain Marvel has got personal stakes with Thanos. It's also not like she single-handedly beat him, she just delayed him a bit and even lost the fight.

@nhagan0015 жыл бұрын
Consider other heroes that fought Thanos. How much time have we had to justify their reasons for fighting Thanos... Now compare them to Captain Marvel... the hero that, short of Black Panther, is barely a franchise yet. When you stack up the formula of who SHOULD have fought Thanos in terms of who has fought him in the previous movie (the cliche, "Round two" in the fighting games), Captain Marvel comes in and just... takes away from it all. Have her fight off the air support, or run logistics, but don't throw her at the main bad guy. She hasn't earned that right yet. Come back when you have established 2 or 3 movies... not when you are fresh off your first movie.
@nhagan0015 жыл бұрын
@Snehil Shrey Doctor Strange is a person that deals with the Magic and Arcane and Supernatural as a normal part of his job. Dr. Strange also went toe to toe with Thanos because he had THE FUCKING TIME STONE. You know, that stone that he used to PREDICT HOW TO BEAT THANOS? You get your uninformed ass out of here. Captain Marvel sucks and never should have had any screen time with Thanos.
