I think you’re over analyzing it. It’s just a girl power moment to be a girl power moment. My question is: at that moment of self-sacrifice, would tony have been worthy of Mjolnir?
@perrycarters31135 жыл бұрын
@@dereksantiago3870 More appropriate question: Would Mjolnir have been worthy of Tony? In all seriousness, the answer is still likely 'no' because Mjolnir isn't just about willingness to sacrifice. Tony is still a very deeply flawed human being who would compromise on a lot of things if he thought it was for the greater good, whereas Thor and Cap are 110% only ever going to do what they consider the right thing without a second's hesitation. Tony, upon realising he could save everyone, didn't immediately call Cap or Banner or Nat or anyone. He put his daughter to bed and then talked it over with his wife; There was a part of Tony that was too desperate to hold on to his own personal happiness to commit to the idea. Once Pepper basically told him he wouldn't be able to live with himself if he didn't try, even he was unwilling to compromise Morgan to undo the Snap. Had Tony been presented with that binary choice of "Bring everyone back but lose Morgan or keep Morgan and everyone stays gone," I fully believe he would have chosen Morgan. But once Thanos was on the board again, the only thing in Tony's mind was "I now live in a world that contains Thanos and Morgan. This is a state of affairs that only ends with at least one of these things no longer existing. *Kill Thanos* "
@dereksantiago38705 жыл бұрын
@@perrycarters3113 I agree with the whole Morgan thing, but the whole not calling everyone when he figured out time travel, not so much. As he is usually selfish he consults Pepper and not the Av. but, with this, we know that Tony knew what was right. He knew it was right to tell them, but he was afraid for Morgan, he's a father, and a good one. I say this because the snap was immediate-ish, as in he didnt hesitate at all.
@rmsgrey5 жыл бұрын
I mean, Tony wasn't wrong - he warned that time has a way of messing right back, and Thanos got brought right back into play, and they ended up seconds away from Thanos wiping out all life in the universe. Sure, they didn't know Thanos would be able to hijack the time heist, but they still ended up with a double-or-nothing situation as a result of their meddling (and that doesn't count the other timelines that were also put at risk).

So in the whole "it's not Cinema" thing; in college I wrote a very long paper about "low" and "high" art (in the context of the paper it was about novels). The basic idea was that high art is really for a smaller group of people and that in turn can make it way less relatable. Low art is the art of the people, art that the "everyday" person can enjoy. It can impact them. It can shape them. It can move them. That in turn makes it a way better and "higher" art form. Art is our freaking oldest tradition behind verbal storytelling. To do art and to experience art is to be human. When more people can take part of that the better humanity is.
@nenebrat23893 жыл бұрын
Super late, but I hope you totally aced that paper with an A+
@MrConstantine023 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure I like that reasoning, because it sort of swings too hard the other way -- implying that "high art", because it's more niche and less pop, is thereby a 'less worthy' type of art than the "low art". There's no such thing as a "better" or "worse" art. Highbrow art and entertainment has its proper value and place, just as Lowbrow art. Neither one is better or worse than the other; they're complimentary to each other, not opposite. (Also, saying that "high art" can ONLY ever be enjoyed by a small group of people is a - sadly - common fallacy. *Everyone* can enjoy even the highest of highbrow stuff; just because it's a little less easily-digestible and takes a little more time to get acclimated to than the "lowbrow" stuff, doesn't necessarily makes it exclusive from the general public).
@Posiman3 жыл бұрын
There is no objective difference between low art and high art. "High art" is defined by elite institutions including it into high art. And only recently they decided to only appreciate niche, artsy stuff. It wasn't always like that. The ceiling of the Sistine chapel was not created for art students to write high brow essays about. Michelangelo was a professional, hired for a lot of money to produce the greatest spectacle in the world. An unrivaled epic piece of Catholic propaganda for both kings and the last commoner to breathlessly marvel at for centuries to come. The sheer scale of it makes it a lot closer to something like the MCU than for example La Grande Belazza...

Im a little surprised that you didnt include the time when Black Panther takes the gauntlet from hawkeye cause Black Panther uses Hawkeye's name, Clint, when talking to him. I Like this part because it goes back to Cap. America: Civil War when hawkeye fights the black panther and hawkeye makes a joke saying that they havent met and he introduces himself which is quickly followed by black panther saying "i dont care." this new scene in endgame shows the development between them and i wish you included it.

I don't have time to go back to his older scenes now, but maybe that scene in particular with the finger kind of amplifies the shaking. Whether it's deliberate or not, the slowness of the moment, meant to make sure everyone sees his meaningful expression and knows what that one finger means (not *that* one finger) -- all of that certainly amplifies his hand tremors and it can mean a lot of things for the viewer. And none of that detract from the strength of that shot!

Not entirely sure why this has popped back into my YT timeline, but there's never a bad time to revisit it. Speaking of which, I recently finished rewatching the whole of the MCU oeuvre in release order, and really appreciated just how much added depth was created by knowing where the story lines were going/ended up. The one thing that blew my mind the most? The fact that Steve Rogers was listening to It's been a long long time in his apartment in Winter Soldier when Nick Fury came in, having been shot up by Hydra agents. To then close that particularly loop with the scene with Peggy at the end of Endgame? Mind. Blown.

I had heard tales of people cheering in the theater, but in my nearly 30 years as an adult had never experienced it. Laughter? Sure, but that's to be expected at a funny bit. Screams? Of course in a frightening or surprising moment, but never cheering. That is, until Cap caught Mjolnir. The theater I was in erupted in spontaneous cheers. I know I certainly wasn't immune.

Basically Avengers 1 Thor) all together still got the living shit kicked out of them by Thanos

Win 131: This had me bawling my eyes out because my brother very recently took his own life. To anyone out there reading this with suicidal thoughts, no matter how down on your life you are, your life means something dear to someone else. No matter how hard life gets, please don’t give up, you have no idea the effect your death can truly have on someone. I will never understand why my brother took his own life, or why he felt he could not disclose how he was doing to me, and it tears me apart every day. Suicide isn’t an answer. I’d be up for talking about this further with anyone who wants to reply.
