Hi Judi. Do you happen to know if Carlson brand Ceylon Cinammon a good quality product? I heard someone state that it is really cassia which is hard on the liver. Anyone else know?

Hi Jeff! Thanks for watching and asking. I'm sorry, but I can't speak for specific brands. I really don't know. Maybe someone else out there knows. Hopefully :)

Cinnamon in the garden, houseplants, is supposed to keep the white surface mould away YET did not for me at all. I bet my cheap cinnamon is why being Cassia instead of Ceylon.

Hi! That's one I haven't heard of before. Maybe, but I'm afraid I couldn't verify your speculation. It's always worth a try! Thanks for watching and sharing :)

Will cassia cinnamon have the same benefits as ceylon cinnamon? I want to make cinnamon oil, but I can only find cassia type.
@JudiintheKitchen3 жыл бұрын
Hi! That's an excellent question. Cassia cinnamon is much higher in coumarin then ceylon cinnamon. Too much coumarin can be harmful to health (it can harm the liver and raise the risk of cancer). Ceylon cinnamon only has traces of coumarin. I can't say how much coumarin would leech out in the oil if you used cassia cinnamon. So, I'm not equipped to answer that question completely. Because of the risk of ingesting too much coumarin from the cassia cinnamon, I believe it would be wise to use only ceylon, so you don't take any chances. Cassia cinnamon may be perfectly fine in that application, but I just can't say for sure. You might try shopping for whole ceylon cinnamon online if you can't find it in your local grocery stores. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching and sharing :)

Hi Dirra! Thanks for watching and asking! In America, most cinnamon that is sold is cassia cinnamon. Ceylon cinnamon is available in some stores, but it's hard to find and is more expensive than cassia. So, I can't say if your specific cassia cinnamon is in my personal pantry, but maybe! The jars of cinnamon are not labeled exactly where they come from and are usually labeled as "cinnamon". If they don't designate the type of cinnamon, they are cassia. So, I can assure you that a LOT of cassia cinnamon is sold in America and it's relatively inexpensive...all the more reason it sells readily. It's delicious and I use it quite often! Keep up the good work! Blessings to you and yours :)

@@JudiintheKitchen You're welcome, brother. if I may ask again. because you like cinnamon. Would you rather buy cinnamon sticks or flour? and in your experience, how much does cinnamon cost in America? kg / gram / dollar. thank you brother🙏
@JudiKlee3 жыл бұрын
@@dirraturrahman4671 Personally, I usually buy ground cinnamon because I use far more ground than sticks. In checking prices online just now, McCormick brand (a name brand here in America) costs $5.78 for a 7 oz container of ground cinnamon at Walmart. The same brand costs $4.81 for a 2.37 oz jar of ground cinnamon, at Walmart. Walmart brand is cheaper, with a 2.5 oz jar of ground cinnamon costing $0.98. A 9 oz container of Walmart brand cinnamon sticks costs $8.98. In case you aren't familiar with Walmart, it's a major chain department store in America, carrying groceries and all sorts of household items, clothing, hardware, car accessories, paints, etc. Many stores carry cinnamon and the prices vary widely, so I can only provide you with one general frame of reference. I hope this helps :)

@@JudiKlee Thank you my sister. If possible, I ask your help to find me social media such as facabooks, Instagram or Twitter for Americans who have cinnamon businesses. So that I can communicate and consult about cinnamon with them, maybe they are interested and buy cinnamon from my area (Sumatra island, Indonesia). So that it can help the economy of the community around my area. Hopefully you can provide me with social media for friends from America who are in the cinnamon business (young people, entrepreneurs). thank you my sister🙏
