I love how the show's like "in the real world there is often a double standard where older men and younger women are accepted" and literally EVERY response to this I've seen has been "can you imagine the outcry if the genders were reversed and this was the other way round?"
@WinnietheWho10 Жыл бұрын
I mean, just look at Hugh Hefner. If it was a woman his age in a house full of young men, do you think she'd get the same response? No. Plus you can find way more examples of older man with a younger woman than the reverse.

28 year old woman chiming in. I can't even fathom dating a 21 year old, I just feel like the difference between me and someone who is just now able to legally enter a bar is so big that I can't fathom it. Like if the love of my life is 7 years younger than me, I'd still wanna meet them in a few years when we've both lived as adults for a while. And even that feels weird.
@green7449 Жыл бұрын
I agree. A 7 year gap isn’t crazy by any means. But when you’re in your 20’s even a 4 year gap can seem huge. I’m 28 and I couldn’t imagine dating someone 24. They just seem too young still.
@Nix_101 Жыл бұрын
If only more men were like that. I've had men in their 50s hit on me and my then college-aged girl friends. Men older than my own parents! I personally prefer dating younger but I draw the line at 2 to 3 years. I cannot fathom dating someone 5+ years younger than me! Like maturity levels??
@lolaBee9 Жыл бұрын
@@Nix_101 yeah that's the thing that bothers me. Are we all going to pretend most women don't have tons of experiences with men old enough to be their father hitting on them even in highschool or in my case since puberty. At malls, public transportation, jobs, and even churches and funerals
@riddlesangerissues3127 Жыл бұрын
@@Nix_101 Well, most men are inclined to find youth attractive so it’s expected for much older men to flirt with young woman. Personally, ever since I was a child I thought anything more than 2 years was excessive. I remember being 14, and thinking the 11-year-old 6th graders were “little kids.” I do consider myself nurturing towards girls and boys younger than me, but some people don’t carry that mentality. “If she’s legal, she’s free to screw” is basically the mentality some men (and women) have. I do think it is important to be mindful of differences. Even young adults are learning to ride a two wheel bicycle in their own right.
@riddlesangerissues3127 Жыл бұрын
@@lolaBee9 Yup! I think something people should be taught is that just because you experience attraction doesn’t mean you need to be forth right about it. Especially if the girl is very young! (Like you said, as young as the onset of puberty. I hit puberty at age 8 and started menstruating at age 10, getting hit on by older boys or much older men was my worst fear! Thankfully, it never happened to me growing up but I am in disgust when I hear women and girls share their stories.)

I don't think there's anything wrong with 50/60 year old women and 30/40 year old men finding each other finding each other attractive. Think it should probably be 35+ because of maturity. When you're going into the 20-29 age it's too young to be actively pursuing. I have the same idea for the men.
