@compulsiverambler13523 жыл бұрын
@@cayk9444 And they groom the boys to accept being the only one in a marriage ever burdened with demands to hold down a job and support self & others with earnings, or else become divorced and homelessness without anyone to financially support you however ill or disabled you get. Well most cultures do that, shaming and romantically rejecting men for the "stay-at-home spouse" excuse for not getting a job but accepting it as legitimate in women - hence most homeless people are men despite far more women being jobless for long periods of time and working fewer hours on average than men - but quite not to the extreme seen here in this culture where there are no women at all willing to get a job and stay with a man who can't earn enough to support both of them. The healthiest person in a couple should work the longest or hardest job, regardless of gender, it's so simple if we cut the primitive reptile-brain instincts and the unquestioned cultural templates left over from ancient times.
@cayk94443 жыл бұрын
@@compulsiverambler1352 true, there are certainly problematic traditions on the men too, without a doubt. But still, unlike the women, the men are still viewed as people, the women are just born to be wives to men and mothers someday. The men are allowed to have fun, socialize, and can have goals, they arent just valued by their genitals. Yes, sadly a man staying at home raising the kids is viewed as insulting to men and embarrassing, as child rearing is viewed as "women's work" and is an insult for men, while working outside the home ("masculine jobs") are viewed in a positive light.... which really isn't all that different from our "regular" culture sadly. It's ironic because any parent (who actually parents) knows that raising children is the hardest job out there and never ends.

Culture is shaped by region, so they can call themselves gypsies all they like, but unless they adopt the Eurasian steppe culture which forced the real gypsies to be the way they were, they aren't gypsies. And, no, I don't mean that by ethnicity. I'm specifically talking about the culture; the environment the culture began in played a massive role in determining how it developed, so by putting a bunch of people in a completely different environment and (almost certainly) without any links to proper gypsies, you get a completely separate group. It's worth pointing out, as they were a nomadic people, people from many different ethnicities and cultures were taken in. The thing is, when you have a small group within a much larger subculture, they will always become assimilated into the larger group given enough time. That's not to say that the west-Asian culture wouldn't have changed, but they would still be similar to their original form. These people are as gypsy as the kid who could put on a vaguely-British accent and drank store-bought tea is a Brit.

To be fair, as third cousins they'd share less than 1% of their dna, it's not really biologically relevant, but I agree (obviously).

@@reasonablyserious if we’re talkin DNA, all humans actually share less than 1% lol

There are so many points throughout when this majorly crosses the line from "haha what wacky buncha hicks!" into just being really really sad and scary for the girls.

The fact the cousin said "She asked me for my hand, in marrying HER CHILD." The man has no issue with calling the teenager a child and still marrying her.

@@Hellraiser988 100% lovely. It's a very sad life these people live, with forced marriage. Have a wonderful day.

Sometimes arranged marriages between adults are okay, in other cultures it’s commonly practiced and the couple in question are okay with it. But if you force them to get married/arranged when they don’t want to, that’s when it gets questionable. But for KIDS...yea, NO CHILD SHOULD BE MARRIED.
