In gypsy culture, they usually marry before 18 years old because if they get older they will be "aunties". Its BS, they're just kids.

First cousins have a set of grandparents in common. Second cousins have a set of great-grandparents in common. Third cousins have a set of great-great-grandparents in common. If there are no other intersections in the family tree, they're barely related.

What creeps me out about these male cousins is that they refer to their promised brides as “child” or “girl”. Not once have I heard them say woman, which means they don’t care that these girls are underage AND being auctioned off by their mothers. It just rubs me the wrong way

I notice one common thing in these shows, the mothers are so set on “tradition” and having their daughters married...yet all of the mothers are single. What tradition are they wanting to carry on? Getting married as a kid, get pregnant and then get dumped?

Situations like this are EXACTLY why the age of consent needs to be 18 in all 50 states. Parents emotionally manipulating a 10th grader to quit school and perform legal incest with a 23 year old man to get pregnant is outrageous abuse..... @@mutestingray for every teen mom that lucks out and gets a lucrative TV show contract (and just one episode isn't gonna cut it.. I'm talking bout the girls on MTV Teen Mom/all the spin off series who can making a living off of a show), there's like a 100,000 or more who don't. Plus it's really delusional to go into a pregnancy as a teenager and think "it's cool, I'll get a show and everything will be okay!" Those Teen Mom shows were becoming popular like 10 years ago when I was about 18- I was concerned even then that those with low IQs would start becoming teen moms thinking they would get to be on TV and become rich and famous- or using it as their financial contingency plan once they found out they were pregnant, not realistically thinking their & their baby's future (financial and otherwise) out... Obviously my fears were not unfounded.

@@cayk9444 And they groom the boys to accept being the only one in a marriage ever burdened with demands to hold down a job and support self & others with earnings, or else become divorced and homelessness without anyone to financially support you however ill or disabled you get. Well most cultures do that, shaming and romantically rejecting men for the "stay-at-home spouse" excuse for not getting a job but accepting it as legitimate in women - hence most homeless people are men despite far more women being jobless for long periods of time and working fewer hours on average than men - but quite not to the extreme seen here in this culture where there are no women at all willing to get a job and stay with a man who can't earn enough to support both of them. The healthiest person in a couple should work the longest or hardest job, regardless of gender, it's so simple if we cut the primitive reptile-brain instincts and the unquestioned cultural templates left over from ancient times.
@cayk9444
@cayk9444 3 жыл бұрын
@@compulsiverambler1352 true, there are certainly problematic traditions on the men too, without a doubt. But still, unlike the women, the men are still viewed as people, the women are just born to be wives to men and mothers someday. The men are allowed to have fun, socialize, and can have goals, they arent just valued by their genitals. Yes, sadly a man staying at home raising the kids is viewed as insulting to men and embarrassing, as child rearing is viewed as "women's work" and is an insult for men, while working outside the home ("masculine jobs") are viewed in a positive light.... which really isn't all that different from our "regular" culture sadly. It's ironic because any parent (who actually parents) knows that raising children is the hardest job out there and never ends.

@@ComXDude you think gypsies are only west asian?
@ComXDude
@ComXDude 4 жыл бұрын
@@mommabutterfly496 Yes. Yes I do. Culture is shaped by region, so they can call themselves gypsies all they like, but unless they adopt the Eurasian steppe culture which forced the real gypsies to be the way they were, they aren't gypsies. And, no, I don't mean that by ethnicity. I'm specifically talking about the culture; the environment the culture began in played a massive role in determining how it developed, so by putting a bunch of people in a completely different environment and (almost certainly) without any links to proper gypsies, you get a completely separate group. It's worth pointing out, as they were a nomadic people, people from many different ethnicities and cultures were taken in. The thing is, when you have a small group within a much larger subculture, they will always become assimilated into the larger group given enough time. That's not to say that the west-Asian culture wouldn't have changed, but they would still be similar to their original form. These people are as gypsy as the kid who could put on a vaguely-British accent and drank store-bought tea is a Brit.
