Awesome Video! Your demonstration is way more extensive than my test suite while writing this JSFX lol. The name is pronounced as R C Jach, which kinda rhymes with Bach (as in J.S.Bach). The H is capitalized since that's the first letter of my last name. Anyway yes, It would be great if this were made into a VST /doge. (I just finished my second ever audio effect VST, a result from learning c++ starting last September, haven't got to learning about MIDI processing yet)

What would be very interesting is if you could bring Matt Parker on, explain some music theory of what all you've done project wise, and then work with him to make som "terrible Python code" as he calls it.

that's a collaboration I would love to see

YESSSSSSS FINALL SOMEONE GOES AHEAD AND ACTUALLY TURNS ONE OF THESE VIDEOS INTO A PLUGIN

I'm working on my conway game of life VST, but I'm looking for a place to show it off. I have a few videos on my channel and I might drop a link to the plugin if people want to try it out on their daws.

Imagine if you could use these circles to control other parameters.

there are so few of us, and i am sure we ALL watch the same weird music/esoteric/philosophical consciousness and physics content. Happy to see the niche collective of musical nerds in one of the most niche concepts of 2025. This truly is our universe. Much love to you OP, and to whoever else takes the time to read this.

Love this idea, and I'm going to go back and watch your previous videos now. I'm the type of person who likes getting their hands dirty and doing stuff low level, so I think I might be writing my own code to do similar things... perhaps with shapes other than circles as well. One thing I'd love to try is making some of the circles control stuff like filter cutoff or stereo image. The possibilities are endless (just like a circle, haha!). Your idea to make one circle control the tempo, now that is WILD! I'm not sure how easily that would fit into a DAW though. Some of them have enough trouble understanding odd time signatures, let alone plugin-generated tempo changes.

I guess I really meant note duration, not tempo! But yeah, filter cut off would be amazing. What you really want is a way of having it flexibly control other plugins...
@macronencer9 күн бұрын
@@marcevanstein I think using MIDI CC would be OK for that. I use Bitwig now, and it does that sort of thing easily. My main difficulty would be that I'm not great at making graphic interfaces, so I'd be working blind a lot...

that would be an awesome vst plugin indeed

Would be great to have this as a VST or JUCE plugin

i wonder could you use this same concept (but with much faster speeds) to make an oscillator with the waveform being controlled by the distance from the middle then mapped to a range of -1 to 1?

Any way this could become a VST that isn't Reaper specific? This would be so fun with Droplets VST or some Bitwig generative patches.

i hope its written in plugdata.. ah, so its not a vst..
