I'm an avid bjj practitioner. Seeing how bjj comes from Judo, I can always appreciate the techniques shown in Judo. Bjj and judo are practically two sides of the same coin in my opinion..Much respect to you guys. This is a beautiful footsweep I've been trying to master for years. Thanks for the tips.

That is the next technique I'll add to my game. The last one was Ouchi gari and I love it. With De Ashi barai on top of that, I don't see what can stop me entering the Olympics. As a 40 years old fresh black belt... Of course I joked ! Not about loving this technique, though. Cheers.

My feeling is this set up neatly blurs the distinction between deashi harai and okuri ashi harai, as the uke's trailing leg is being swept.

Hello, I’m a brown belt judoka who has recently moved to an MMA gym. I’m really taking a liking to Muay Thai. Is there any way you can talk about foot sweeps that could work in a no gi clinch position?

It's a killer combo for sure!

Maybe some ko soto gake, however, many judo techniques are actually banned in muay thai, so i think you need to talk to your trainer and see what’s right or not. I personally try to do some thai box stuff when in clinch and then try to sweep my opponent.

Theres a ton of clinch sweep content out there on youtube, way too many videos to recommend. I would go down that rabbit hole for sure.

Always poor execution, I didnt see this "master" performing well any technique as Tori. Also, Uke doesnt help.

Woah there, woah there! Please note that Mr Higashi isn't trying to showcase a clean technique, he is trying to give tips to those already know the technique or that at least have a grasp of it. And yes, his Ukes do not help a lot which means that throwing them would need him to do the technique for real (or almost, you get my point). Higashi knows his thing, nobody needs him to show a clean throw right now, so why do you want him to? Anyways, i think that he just likes performing throws in that way, and i'm grateful for it because it attracts people from other wrestling styles and people that do not like fancy stuff because it seems unrealistic (even if it isnt)
