Oh my, I love this plant so much, have not yet seen it in person, but now that you have shared it, I'm going to be on the lookout for one. Those dang spider mites, I'm sure you will treat it and it will be just fine, I just hate the bugs that invade our plants, they really have a lot of nerve doing that. I hope you are having a wonderful day, take care and I will see you again tomorrow.

I have this along my corridor and it grew into a giant under full sun. I love that naturalistic tangled look as it cascades to my neighbour’s corridor below. I also have Indian neighbours coming by requesting for cuttings. They say it’s good for ladies and strengthen bones! Mine has the same leaf shape as your smaller specimen. A very drought tolerant and low maintenance plant for the tropics.

I have no experience with this plant, but in the summer of 2017 several of my cacti came down with spider mites. My arborist told me they use Dawn dish soap with diluted water on their indoor office plants. I gave that a try and about 1/2 of my cacti have survived that came down with those red critters. Your Cissus quadrangularis is a lovely plant.

I had a small one and it grows like mad and propagates really easily (and I usually don't have the patience for propagation). You know who might have info is Steve's leaves, I'm pretty sure I saw them selling this plant at one point. Also, from what I've seen of another person who tried everything to get rid of spider mites (some are easier to get rid of then others) for her, a mineral oil mixture worked the best for her, so like you said I would imagine the horticultural oils and such would be the way to go, from what I've seen.

I hope this is an ok way to do it but I kill spider mites by mixing a little bit of neem oil, a little bit of dishsoap, and a lot of water into a spray bottle and shake it up. Spray the plant and let it sit for like 5 to 10 min and then spray off with clean water. Seems to work well for me even with my more sensitive plants.

@@patriciamaqueda2782 it's a plant that I put outside for the summer with partial direct sun (I should mention I live in Montreal, Canada) and now it's close to my north-east facing window. I have had one of these for a couple of years. I found your video because I was hoping that someone had suggestions on how best to display it. Or contain it! It's kind of inconvenient having a plant just sprawl around, but it doesn't seem to like being helped to climb like a Philodendron, and it's too stiff to wrap around a wire form like I do my Dioscoreas.

Hi! I was just wondering if you might feel comfortable sharing what vendor the plant cane from. I bought a hanging basket of string of hearts at a farmers market in nyc, too, over the summer, and it brought spider mites into my home - 100% confirmed they came on that plant. I let the vendor know but they didn’t seem very concerned.

I have one of these, but it was sold to me as a "Cissus Cactiformis." It was quite hard to find care information on it, and around August mine dropped all its leaves and the vine tendrils shriveled up. Three months later, and it has the same appearance, with no more loss of limbs or anything. Perhaps it entered a dormancy stage? I really don't know what to make of it, and the nursery that sold it to me was unsure of how to care for it when I asked them. A lovely plant, though. I hope this spring it begins to shoot out new growth.

Did anyone figure out the question about the two different leaves? I've researched and did not find a clear answer. I have approx 200 house plants (Maine) mostly rare /unusual. I've never spent so much time finding a correct species name. Especially since it's widely used in other countries-medicinal /edible. I'd love to know the true botanical name of "cucumber cactus" with grape like leaves
