Iproblem asokubhadala itax but our taxes are being abused through corruption and outright theft from the revenue authority’s coffers. We want to pay tax but we must see and feel that the tax is benefiting us as a society. The issue of overtaxation is another problem, the bigger issue is the mismanagement of our taxes that is why people are against paying taxes.
@witspos21 күн бұрын
That's the issue. Taxing pple to fund their lifestyles. This is a travesty

I don't agree with closing imports. There is a number of ways imports have helped Zimbabweans, cheaper products and that benefits many poor Zimbabweans. The government is still failing to provide jobs for Zimbabweans. Zimra is cluless to the suffering of many people in Zimbabwe.
@wanderlust61621 күн бұрын
Closing imports is a positive step! Imagine importing amasi from South Africa-let's give our entrepreneurs the opportunity to thrive. By making, buying, and eating our own products, we keep our money circulating within our economy. Let's support local growth!
@mandlas.430521 күн бұрын
If we do that, we would be treating the symptoms not the disease. Let’s address the weakening currency issue which arose from a disputed presidential election.
I hear you it is a good move but do we have means and industries in Zimbabwe to produce all those imported goods. They should limit the importation of certain goods especially that are locally produced. If there is a total ban, where will we buy goods like car parts, phamaceuticals etc.

I don't understand what you mean by saying they should order from Edgars . Since Edgars is also a retailer how do you order from them what profit do you make . People go out of the country because of the price .
@eazywelco9 күн бұрын
Edgar’s has places where they mass produce their stuff. I’m sure the guys has some information we don’t have
@khaltsharivist36516 күн бұрын
4:00 Zimbabwe is a consumer society, there is hardly any manufacturing going on, factories are now churches. The likes of Edgars are also importing & not only that they are paying dividends & or loans to their foreign owners outside the country. They can also manage their taxes through transfer pricing shenanigans. The real externalisers of forex are the politically connected the so called mbingas that people like Phiri idolise or are afraid to mention.

Sugar causes cancer the government knows that too so that’s why they impose sugar tax, this tax is said to be going towards cancer patients welfare or something to do with cancer. So sugar tax is good 👍

Plenty places where you can sell tomatoes and not pay taxes. They have free education & social net. They also have tax free allowances on earnings. More importantly they have governments implementing policies they voted for. They can change their governments through a free and fair election & have free press.
