3:50 it would make more sense to allow left turns out but force them to go around the roundabout to get in 21:25 23:04 electric buses also need to recharge so will need to return much more frequently than diesel unless you upgrade the bus station with a charger (don't know if the small station has that) 23:45 that depot doesn't have the electric buses upgrade to send out electric buses on the line

@@capedkat Yes, is does seem to matter. If the people are not waiting on the correct side of the bus to get in the doors, the bus will stop, but it won't load.

i think that custom alley with sidewalks is having mesh issues because you have both shoulders and sidewalks, you really only want one or the other. but also only 3.5 and 5 sidewalk widths connect perfectly. just a weird quirk of the vanilla game with that one

Without a counter route for A > B > C > D > E > F > A, to travel from F to E you need to travel F > A > B > C > D > E rather than E < F. This artificially overloads the buses and make the journey time longer. This is why all bus routes have a clockwise and counter route.

yup with right hand traffic it has to be on the right side because the bus only has doors on that side

Biffa, remember you're using a map with right hand traffic! The bus door is on the right, so stops on the left won't work! Also, is adding invisible paths really necessary for the parks? I thought cims could walk through park areas by default.

Pika Pika Pond is such a great name! I think Middle Street should be renamed Pika Pika Street, just because its the main link from the rail station to the road encircling the lake!

Good episode! I really quite enjoyed hearing the saga about getting your new office set up. I have never done a project where something didn't go 'haywire'. ok I had my Biffa giggle about the buses 🤣 Nice build today!! I really love that round fountain park🤩Glad you didn't flood!! We are st4 weeks today into being delcared a disaster area from Helene in the mountains of North Carolina! Minimum damage to our house tho the flooding was one in a thousand years. Our creek, which is 20ft wide was a river 100+ ft wide. Thank goodness we were about 300 ft away. Horrifying! So many issues up here atm. Our bridge is gone and we have an emergency road into Lowes Improvement. It will take years to fix everything up here 😔 The weather is just nuts anymore!

I feel a good amount off frustration while building roads can be disarmed by taking a fresh closer look at the snapping options. Being deliberate in which ones to enable and disable can be a very powerful aid

I love it, looking fantastic. And you were definitely right about the tourism changes being sorted out soon. Would love to see some whole area infrastructure going in that benefits the whole city area, like and airport or the like. Also I agree with you that it would be really nice to be able to differentiate between local, inter-city and interstate bus lines with different stops and integrated terminals would make the game so much better😃

Add the shops extensions from the bus stop, they look great and also act a a walking bridge for those who play vanilla only. Great asset!

Biffa - I have to say I love what you've done with the side of the map and the entire design and I feel your pain when it comes to the buses and the issues have with them. Also thank you for sharing the story of what happened with your home and your office and I'm sorry that you went through all the difficulty since it's never easy and you always have great plans and then something unfortunately like Murphy's Law says always happens. But I am glad it finally all turned out OK in the end which is very good to hear. Back to the design that you created I had an idea on something with that road builder mind that you might want to try since I'm not sure if anybody's ever done it and it might be kind of cool to give it a try shot. Instead of using a mod to build a road try using a mod to build a custom-made walking path since correct me if I'm wrong but don't the roads in the game give you better control when you're elevating them and going over other roads and give you better bridge designs. If this is the case, then imagine what you could do with walking past and it might give you more flexibility with them. Plus if you think a little bit more out of the box when it comes to the walking path in relationship to the road. You might be able to take one of the roadways and have a custom-made walk over bridge above the roadway that can move in integrate with the road as you build it. Sorry if that sounded a bit wordy on my part since it's hard to sometimes think how you wanna say things when you're dictating it into this comment section through my iPad. Also, Biffa i'm really happy that your life seems to be coming together and I have to say that you and your family are very much in my thoughts and prayers because what you have gone through is not an easy. God bless to you sir and your entire family as well as all your family and friends in other places. Stay safe and well because I and hopefully others want you around for a very long time and we want you to be happy as well.

he buses that didnt stop and were returning, were likely some of the original 9 buses assigned to the line, which were then dropped to 4, But because there was such a long journey from the depot, it took a while for them to appear and when they did, they were on their way back

Pika Pika pond is a doubly excellent name as Pika is Japanese onomatopoeia for "sparkling or glittering" (hence Pikachu-electric-sparkly; and the pika-pika mascot), so Sparkling Pond and it does sparkle in the sun 😊

Make a "The MounTEAns" national park, of the Mountains in the back, so you can make it a real tourist village, hotels, big malls, some folklore, restaurants , a zoo, so you will have a real destanation village

Making this comment before the end of the video. 1. Doors on the bus are on wrong side. 2. I dont know how fuel works in the game, but Electric busses probably need to charge more often than the gas busses need to refuel, so adding a charging station to the bus terminals might help if possible? Or adding the upgrade to the depot.

Had my garden office 3 years now, very similar to yours. Mine is heated by an oil filled radiator controlled by home automation!

Nice! I've been adding zigbee lights and lamps, plus an AC unit controlled by a sensibo IR unit, all through Home Assistant. I have a room sensor to add soon to totally automate everything. Love it 😁

The first bus station with shelter outside college would have passengers waiting for pick up on the driver's side of the bus, but embarking/disembarking on the opposite side of the bus, forcing them to cross in front or behind the bus - not ideal. Instead, retool small section of parking road to accommodate bus stop on correct side of the street.

3 possibilities with the bus issue: 1. When you built the line you selected electric busses. So that normal bus that came ALL the way from the distant bus depot had to turn around and go all the way back. Then when you plopped the bus depot in Pika Pika it was not upgraded to electric busses either. When you deleted and redrew the line you did not select electric. 2. When busses enter the line from the depot, they travel to the first stop you connected on the line ignoring all other stops. Then they run the cycle from that point. I don't know which stop you connected first, but if it wasn't that one at the front then they would ignore it and drive right on by. 3. The mod. It may be a combination of all 3 to explain that weird behavior. Edit: 39:00 you caught it.

As you are using mixed house along the tracks as you need commercial. I think once they finally fix the noise them buildings are going to be a problem there at the tracks.

One of those cross streets should be a two way. They have to go all the way around the neighborhood to get to the end of the block, but can get out just fine.

Love the city thus far Biffa! I was just thinking - it wouldn't be very realistic to be 98% reliant on foreign power imports, so a sensible next step could be to develop your own means of power generation. Nuclear is definitely a viable, low-carbon option, however I don't think your current electrical demand would make building a nuclear power station worthwhile. Sticking with low-carbon sources, a few solar power plants combined with emergency battery stations would work nicely, with a base load provided by hydroelectric. What's more - imported electricity costs 5,000/MW whereas electricity generated using solar costs 1,500/MW maximum, plus you get extra money exporting electricity!

Fun fact for you all, The difference between a pond and a lake has nothing whatsoever to do with its size. The only thing defining their difference is that it is a pond if sunlight can reach the bottom, if not then its a lake.

Hi! The one way road for the bus stop, you put two shoulders each way. When added the pedestrian ones, the original can be deleted.

Its funny you know i think just because of my job being a Carpenter i can see the smallest differences in parallel lines, the park at the bus station is literally a pixel or 2 out of line. Most people would not see it, and nearly all arent even bothered by it and rightly so, but my brain makes me spend too long going backwards and forwards to make it perfect much to my annoyance.

You have to upgrade the bus depot to have electric busses, they keep going back because they want to change into an electric bus but can’t. At least that’s what I think, I could be completely wrong on that one…

The reason your bus didn't pick up waiting passengers at the station / college is probably because the stop was on the wrong side of the road for that direction of travel.

Biffa, you can't have bus riders getting off the bus and into the street!! The bus unloads from the right, so all stops must be on the right.

I suspect your bus stop in front of the college/train station is on the wrong side of your one way road. Don't passenger have to board from the right hand side? Not certain, but it might be.

Do any of your bus depot or stations have Electric bus upgrade? maybe game try to swap busses to electric ones and cannot do that so it set normal bus and recall it at the same time? NVM: you find it
