Awesome to hear it turned out well. Always difficult to follow up from an awesome first game but glad this sequel didn't rest on its laurels. Always love it when a game has so many "pros" I don't have time to read them all before the video moves on 😅😅. Great review as always

it was a wild risk to take but i think the removal of stabilizer paid off well. my #1 biggest gripe with the original was that stabilizer in the original kinda just served as a keep living tax, and became completely useless the second you got self repair. paying 100 / 80 cryo every 3 days to keep all 5 dice was unsustainable unless you used all your dice on working every day, meaning you needed to bounce between 4 and 5 as not to waste money. also, the fact it's a massive cryo bombshell you might not have the funds for, and that stability could be lost by bad outcomes (or even neutral outcomes at some places) made it less fun and more "ah shit i'm gonna have 3 dice tomorrow and not be able to do anything unless i drop 90% of my cryo right now". that basically all changes the second you get self repair. stabilizer becomes a last resort, not helped by the fact that scrap was so easy to get / buy a decent amount of that you would be self repairing constantly which isn't as fun as the balance of needing stabilizer to live.

I played the first Citizen Sleeper on Game Pass. I failed several times because the dice were just rubbish! No matter how good the story and the art style are, if the gameplay sucks, then the video game isn't worth playing. So, if you’re gonna roll the dice, make sure they’re loaded in your favor. Otherwise, you might as well just play checkers with you self. At least you win sometimes! So here’s a tip: if you’re gonna roll the dice, make sure they’re not made of cardboard. Otherwise, you’re just asking for a waste of time. I said goodbye to Game Pass anyway, and this is probably another reason why!

@Sn33t Sorry, I was a bit too salty, okay. I had high expectations for the first Citizen Sleeper! But as I tried to enjoy the game, I kept getting screwed over and over by the damn dice rolls! That turned me into a bitter brick! Now, show me an Xbox owner who doesn’t look at Game Pass or Microsoft with a little spark of hatred in their heart!

​@@3L_B4R7Oi changed to xbox and really enjoy it, good console and also enjoy Gamepass a lot, whats your problem with it, at least 15 really must have played games in there for 10 bucks. Only thing i hate is that theres no Helldivers 2 for xbox, but thats a sony issue not microsoft

@@Sn33t There have been some really good games on it, such as #Signalis, which was available at one point, or #Darktide, which is still available. But the subscription price has been steadily increasing, and I & you, like many others, have to pay for groceries, public transportation, and so on. Don't get me wrong, it is actually a really good deal, but unfortunately, it gets more expensive every year if you want to use the Ultimate version of Game Pass for €18 and not the "soft" scaled-down, but still quite good Core version for €15. The pathetic €6 version is a joke, as it only really good for playing online.

I felt similar to you the first time I played it. Came back to it last year and I had a totally different experience. The way leveling up allows you to boost dice rolls really alleviates any bad rng you might encounter. I boosted my dice rolls to make earning money from the gambling easier and found I ended up with more than enough money to have food and the medicine needed to survive.
