I love the analogy here. Most people will associate December with happy things like Christmas or snow days or hot chocolate, but in this it's put in a more negative light. I never feel happy in december 😟 I don't like Christmas 😟 My mother never likes her presents and always complains at the food and about the channel you watch on tv All the efford you put into it and no one appreciates it 😟 The only thing that makes me happy at Christmas is standing almost all day in the kitchen preparing food so I don't hear the ungratefull complains And helping people who have less than me, I always love to bring them a box full of food, add a lot of love and a suprise and give them a little bit of happyness in those dark days Or invite people who feel lonely at Christmas that's the only thing that makes me happy with Christmas And december is just a cold and dark month so yeah I can see a lot of similarities with depression I always wish I just could sleep thru december and just skip it... just wake up in the summer and feel the light and love 😟 Sending all the light and love to anyone who needs it 💜

Same here, december baby with depression. In the last 5 years I've lost 3 people, 2 of them in December the death date very close in time. Buried them respectively 2 days and 1 day before my birthday. It just brings back everything that went wrong. I used to love that month, but for a while it was very hard watching the days pass by as it gets closer (firstly because it just reminded me that i could have been spared all the suffering as i should've died before i turned 1 and then just because it always felt awkward celebrating a birthday, never really liked it). It was hard to overcome but i feel like the episodes are getting more and more rare. Keep holding on guys, it gets better 💜

I feel you completely. While at the moment, I'm pretty stable, there are still times when I just want to lay there and not do a thing and ignore everything inside my head, but just can't. Or when I'm feeling so down and out that all I can do is take a nap. I actually found myself nearly bawling at TikTok videos made for those that are struggling with depression and when my parents called me for dinner, I had to stop in the bathroom to make sure they couldn't tell I was crying. There was a time in my life where I stayed up for hours on end each night watching videos or watching TV just so I would feel so tired I wouldn't think while I was falling asleep and I would pass out. And it was like that for a few weeks until I was forced to sleep around normal people times. If I'm being honest, I need a really good therapist...

I think you need to find someone/something else to live for otherwise once your dog passes, I'm afraid you won't be here you'll lose your will to live. I suggest (though you might not want my opinion) that you go places that make you happy even if it's just a walk in the sun or sitting in the shade under a tree while reading. Getting to know yourself better is the best way to do things that make you feel good/be happier. Keep trying and your dog must be really amazing (just like you even if you didn't realise it)

I resonate with this song. Depression has left me constantly drained of drive and will. I always feel this pain within that's similar to internal bleeding. However, there's no real injury. I grew up listening to music with my dad. He taught me to lose myself to the music; to listen to the meaning. He tragically passed away two and a half years ago. And in dealing with the grief and anxiety, you Citizen Soldier have helped me so much. It is never difficult to find the meaning and each song just gets more and more relatable. This song perfectly sums up my entire life. Ironically, my daughter was born in December and I love my beautiful princess more than anything but I always feel like I'm bringing her down because I can't bring myself to celebrate her special day. On her 10th birthday, she walked up to me and told me that January 7 will be our Daddy / daughter day, just the two of us to celebrate her birthday. Obviously, I started bawling my head off and she just threw her arms around me and told me that she loved me. I don't know how I was graced with such a sweet and amazing little girl but I'm forever thankful. Thank you for this beautiful song.
