I was shot 13 years ago and with that I've been in and out of a wheelchair, in and out of the hospital and so on then last year I developed a movement disorder that reacts to sounds and lights so I have to wear headphones all the time and it gets rather violent. Through ALL of this plus a heart attack and COPD, my husband has stayed by my side the entire time. I've been so depressed from all of it and hes able to lift me up even with how stressed out this makes him also. This song brought tears to my eyes cuz I thought of my husband and how hes kept me going all these years even when I didnt feel worth all the trouble. I love him more than words can express. Sorry so long, I comment on most of your songs cuz I'm obsessed with your music but this one really hit home and I wanted to write this. Thank you guys so much for your emotional and heartfelt lyrics💕 I love you guys🤘 Keep it up

I too have been on the receiving end of a bullet and although I havnt been wounded to the point of being in a wheelchair I too share the mental strain it has and I too need to wear headphones to block out the noise, you are very lucky and fortunate to have a man that understands and helps you through your trauma wish there were more people like him in the world

This song is my instant favorite for sure, 2 years ago I dissapointed everyone in my familiy and most of all, myself. for only a year (which already felt like a century) I was just excisting. On my biggest low yet I have found my true and now best friends that I trust with my life. Because they believed in me when not even I myself did. Now 2 years later, I finally can say that I love myself for who I have become. I got my drivers license, have a apprenticeship, I also lost 20kg so I am not obese anymore, I started working out again. You know, I graduated from high school roughly about year ago. I always helped other people, even though I was slowly falling apart. I always helped a friend in need. When they needed me, I was there. If they wanted me to see their dance concert, I arrived early and got a front row seat so they can see me. I supported them no matter what they did, even though if it was a completely stupid decision I still supported them. If they were being bullied. I was their shelter, their guiding light, their sword and shield. I would alway be there for them. I WILL protect them. But all I ask for, is you respect me. Why would I help you if you don't respect me. I'm a VERY lenient person, but even I have a limit. I got so caught up with helping others ALL throughout high school, I forgot about myself. I helped others and hid my pain and burdens. I didn't know what to do. So then the ones I helped, helped me. They helped do the impossible. When I was feeling down or walking home, I put on headphones and played citizen soldier. Their music helped me get through all the bullshit and pain that was thrown my way. This song resonates within me on some whole new level. In December of 2019 my mother died right in front of me. We were walking to work when a man in a Nissan armada swerved and hit her. He kept going. He missed me entirely but killed my mother. I tried reviving her but there was no use. I assume her lungs had either been punctured or filled with blood by the time I ran over to her. My boyfriend contacted me after seeing the news article. Begging me to tell him that me and my mother were okay. So I told him and he came to get me that same day of the accident. Eventually I decided to stay over at his house and slowly his family let me move in. They accepted me with open arms. I was destroyed. Numb. Shattered like within this song. Didn't feel like there was any point in living without my mother. I became unresponsive to the world and those around me. But my boyfriend -and his mother- both saved me....they convinced me that I was better off ALIVE instead of dead....i begged them to let me join my mother so many times in the past 5 months....they have seen me the lowest anyone ever has. Deven has kept me sane. Kept me alive. Given me a reason to live again. I can never express how deeply grateful I am to these people. He alone puts up with all of my insanity. Even my fear of loud noises and my ptsd.....im slowly finding my purpose again thanks to them. I don't know where I would be if they hadn't stepped in....probably with my mother by now. But I realize that isnt where I should be. Mom would be so proud of me. That's all I wish for. Is her to smile down on me and say "that's my daughter. My joy"

My mum has passed away in the night of the 11th. It's ironic that I found this song now, while trying to find some sort of distraction or comfort, since she's always been the one to pick me and my siblings and my niece back up from the ground, to be there for us no matter what, the one that always managed to make everything right again. It'd be a lie to say that I'm not still waiting for her to appear in the door and fix everything like she always did. Cause even when you felt like the world is falling apart around you, she would try her all to make you feel better and safe again. And she always succeeded in that. She tried her best to make us strong, so that one day ... that has now arrived ... we would be able to fight for ourselves. And yet, all I wish is that I could hug her one last time, and tell her one last time that I love her.

I said it before and I have to say it again: Relentless is one hell of an album. And also, the story it tells, it's just simply amazing (I love chronological tracks or a little bit of storytelling in one record. This is so much more than just "10+ songs packed together on one CD") Starting off at full pain, slowly accepting and, more importantly, fighting it. Cutting from things (or even people), who just do bad for you, to find that helpful one person (which can even be yourself, you just have to find it) who pushes you towards the thought "Hey, maybe I'm actually worth something". And in the end, with 'Unbreakable', standing infront of everything, every thought that ever tried to destroy you, and show it the Warrior you are, conquering over anything it throws at you... This Album is simply perfect!

I have been battling depression since kindergarten but I didn’t even know I had it until seventh grade, I felt so alone I wanted someone to turn to in my darkest days and I also questioned my purpose and worth at one point, and then it got to the point of me wondering what if something happened to me and if so would anyone miss me, I was also afraid to show people how I felt because I was scared of what they would say, I just wanted to be loved and appreciated for being me, i also wanted to cry or scream but I was too scared because of the stereotype that guy’s show no emotion, I was even too afraid to ask a girl out my confidence is still low but I’m actually talking to someone😁

Honestly this song is something I would hear about my own life. How much I have struggled of being alone for many years, being bullied for 10 years in the past, being treated badly because I was born differently, etc. But no matter what happens, I keep on going, no matter if my heart is shattered into million peaces or how much I have struggled because I am both mentally and physically disabled, I keep on moving forward, just so I could find my place in this cold and cruel world I like to call reality. I may deal with deep depression and anxiety, but it doesn't mean I have fully given up. Just need to find something I am good at, so that my own life could get better for the future.

this song was something I desperately missing in my life, my mom was always my biggest supporter and is awesome overall so I shared this with her and she now loves it as it also applies to her and my step dad (who actually raised me) who were both depressed and broken but still managed to raise one another up from the ground I said this before and I say it again; your music is a godsend and I wish you a long and happy life/career
