“You are not your past” is seriously something I’ve always needed hear. As someone who was abused as a kid, and chose violence as my response to trauma, I needed this. I changed, I pushed that part of me down the drain, yet I still suffer from the traumas of my family and myself. If I could let go and say that “I am not my past”, life could be a whole lot better.

There's something so amazing about these two kinds of songs, the ones where the singer is the victim and the ones where the singer is the supporter. I love that there are two, perhaps even more possible interpretations, like one where there are two friends, one is depressed and sings the songs from the view of a victim, while the other one who sings songs from the view of a supporter is trying to save him. The other one could be that it's one and the same person, who is both a victim and someone who wants to save others going through the exact same thing. Simply amazing, guys.

I just wanted to share: I only recently found this band, but already they’ve changed my life. I’ve felt like absolute shit for the past few years because of mistakes I’ve made and stuff I regret not doing while I still could. I used to beat myself up about my regrets and make my own life hell every day. Then because I met a person who saw something in me worth holding onto, I finally decided I didn’t want to wait until I got better, because that was never going to happen, it was time I started working towards it for myself. Then when I start listening to Hallelujah (I’m Not Dead) as a form of comfort and musical therapy, this song gets suggested to me. Just know that it’s okay to make mistakes. As long as you know you didn’t like your choice in the moment and you learn from it to make better decisions in the future, you shouldn’t think less of yourself or think you don’t deserve happiness. Good or bad, the past isn’t you. It’s a tool for learning and self improvement

This song hit me. Few years ago I acted very self centered, and always felt like I needed to be in the spot light. It wasn’t until years later that I matured, and I realized that I had everyone having very difficult opinions. This brought me to have anxiety on who I was, and how could I be a better person. it seeped in on how I was a horrible person and that I didn’t deserve anything, and that I was massive burden if I asked someone for help, or if I needed an opinion. It had gotten to the point of me doing self harm, and almost hurting myself. And then it got the my physical, to my body image. All because of how I was when I was younger. I’m getting help now, and I felt like I was grown. Until I came across this song to remind me that I wasn’t alone nor was I that kid. So thank you so much😊😊😊

UNREAL how so many of your songs are as if you read my mind, how I feel, the way my mind perceives & twists reality, then writes songs that feel as if they'd literally been written for me. I am a senior lost motivation from a bad grade. This reminded me of how in the past 2 years was me being at my lowest then quickly getting back up feeling unworthy because of how fast my grades gone up feeling like I should have failed having those mental wounds. But this will motivate me and will remind me of my hard work.

My past full of faults used to consume me. Now the strength I've gained is all consuming. I still slip up and fall down literally and physically, by accident and oh so intentionally. When I'm up, I'm up. And when I'm down, I'm down. On the ground but don't count me out! I'm about to get up! Be it all to fall again, I'm getting back up!! I've been high and I've been low.
