Bought the T-Shirt for this song in Denver last Sunday. Had the blessing to see Skillet on a military base last year, and it was by far my favorite show. They brought the truth of the gospel with them, and rock and roll! Love you Skillet!!

I love that Skillet has developed a harder sound over the years, but sticks to their positive, Christ-centered message. @cliffadams84 Жыл бұрын
I love the fact that their christ-centered but you'd never be able to tell unless you either research the band or really listen to their songs. Even if you do sometimes you can't tell because none of there songs are obviously Christian it's just good music with a good message behind it.

Part of what makes Skillet so good is that it doesn't pretend that anybody lives a painless or sinless life. Not Christians. Not anyone. We all got pain, crosses, and suffering. We all got sins, vices, and shame. Skillet is a Christian band that's raw, relatable, and honest. They say "Life is hard... but it's worth living and you can do it. We want to teach you that you can do it." No wonder they've helped a lot of people through dark times.

@@StarlightSkarlet10K yes they are, John Cooper is constantly on Christian podcasts and YT shows speaking out against modern culture because it goes against what Jesus said in the New Testament. Also your accusation that rock is not Christian is the most ridiculous thing you could have said, please show me where in the Bible it says any musical instrument is not allowed. It's not the instruments or the genre that makes a song evil , it's the lyrics. You need to stop listening to Christian legalism because that is not scripture.

I gotta say this is one of THE best songs we've ever heard from Skillet. It's one of the most beautiful and relatable expressions of the overthinking that comes from anxiety and depression and how it messes you up to the point where you don't even trust your own thoughts anymore. That's one of the biggest reasons why I love John Cooper's songwriting so much. He has the most unique and relatable way of expressing these kinds of things that everybody thinks and feels at some point, but nobody ever wants to talk about, and usually never even knows how to explain anyway. John, please never ever stop writing music!! ☺

I don't know if there's any actually genuine christian folks who struggle with the same stuff I do, and I'm praying for anyone who does, but I wanted to thank you guys (Skillet) for all the work you've done over the years. I've seen ya'll perform live at least twice before at Soul Fest, and every time I hear your music it feels like it ignites something in me, and I believe my fiancé feels the same way. Skillet's music has helped us through pain, rage, trauma, and even pushed us to fight for our lives and love amidst the frustrating and agonizing times we've faced in our lives. This song especially isn't just a "banger" to us; for me, it hits on a personal level. I have major depressive disorder with psychotic features as well as chronic migraines, and we're both autistic with anxiety, so it literally "resonates" with us on a personal level. It's difficult for folks like us to focus on love and life when our heads are enraptured by the pain and delusions. It's hard to let God be at the center of our lives when the paranoia and anxiety get the better of us, and it's important to humanize those of us who are often called "monsters" and insane, and instead of locking us away or threatening us... working towards standing with us to fight against the voices and the thoughts, even when they sound so enticing.

Hello, I'm from Brazil, and I'm a Christian. There are several Christians who go through and are going through things similar or the same as yours, or as the song itself speaks. I know of several Christians who are carrying heavy pains and responsibilities to be and talk with Christ. And Christians here in Brazil are at great threat and risk, especially when a Dictatorship was installed here (they are just trying to formalize the regime, but essentially we are already in one). At the end of the day, I am Christ's, as much as Satan and all hell wants me not to. All humans have their struggles, and Christians are no different, the difference is that we have Christ to help us overcome the evil that wants to end us. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we may be able to comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For as the sufferings of Christ overflow to us, so through Christ our consolation overflows". 2 Corinthians 1:3-5. without that Light I am nothing. "So do not be afraid, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will hold you with my victorious right hand". Isaiah 41:10 he tells me not to be afraid, but I always tell him that it is difficult, but that I must do it and that only he can give me strength. "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ. Jesus, our Lord". Romans 8:38-39 And in the end, as much as I suffer and cry, it's not about, but about Jesus and his love. Now I consider myself a weak, a fallen, a miserable man, an idiot, but thanks to him, I'm moving towards myself to be a strong, victorious, powerful and a better man. Don't be discouraged, if Christ is with you, then you, like me, will end the day saying: "I've fought the good fight, I've finished the race, I've kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7.

Yes!! HEAVY SKILLET IS BACK! God I'm so glad they went back to that heavier sound when they released the "Unleashed" album and ever since they've felt so much like Comatose/Rise Skillet more than where they were going which was more soft rock than it was a metal/hard rock mix.

I am an atheist (25y) and I have been listening to this band since I was 17-18 years old. I think they are really good at catching the attention of those who do not share their beliefs, because every single human being on Earth can relate to the themes they talk about in their songs. If you are a Christian, you will call them "sins", but if you are an agnostic or an atheist you will still label these sins as "flaws" and as diverse "mistakes" you can learn from. We are all imperfect beings, and we are all made of light and shadow. It does not matter if you believe in the Christian God, in the gods of any other tradition or if you do not believe in anything your eyes cannot see; if there is something that unites us, is that imperfect and complex nature of the human being. Acknowledging our mistakes and growing from the pain we may suffer throught this road called life is what every one of us must do. Life is meant to be lived.

Definitely should have been the lyrics, as the original addresses a problem and leaves no solution. As a "Christian" band, you would never know it from many of their songs and the way they dress in goth on stage. Hope they see this, repent, and start truly putting JESUS first, not being ashamed to say and put HIS name in songs. 1 Peter 1:16 “Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” 1 Thessalonians 5:22 "Abstain from all appearance of evil." James 4:4 "Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God." Joshua 24:15 "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." 1 John 2:15-17 "15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever." Romans 12:1-2 "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
