"If you make it to the morning." That line resonated deeply because there was many where I almost didn't make it to the next dawn light. Holding a bottle of pills and every time either my dog came up and nosed them or pawed them away or a friend would message almost as though they had some kind of sense I needed a shoulder. As of April 27th I am 3 years and 4 months self harm free. I last used a crisis line November 2020. I still keep it near but it does get better and I hope whoever needs this nudge sees this. Pursue you even if others don't like it or care. Pursue your dreams even when others scorn or laugh. Pursue what makes you happy because in the end, the ones who matter most and care about you will still be there by your side.

Totally agree with you. Once I start "Would Anyone Care", I put it on a continuous loop, it's so good! And I sent it to a dear friend as he was about to attempt to end his life and he reconsidered. That song has a special place in my heart.

That was such a powerful verse, I love how inspiring the song is, it was something I needed to hear since I have a tendency to get depressed: I often think about how meaningless my life is and how insignificant my actions are, I feel I cannot and will never be able to help anybody else, so I wonder if there's even a point in keep trying. I am living proof of this. It took a severe crash to send me for help, and then nearly a decade of finding the appropriate medication and intensive therapy. But I've moved from staying alive to not take myself from my family to staying alive because I don't want to lose my family. It's only a small distinction, but it is a very important one. I deserve to have good people in my life, and if I die, I have no life for those good people to be in. Your music has instrumental in my healing process, and I send it to people who let me know they're struggling. I will be a human lighthouse; I am defined by the times I didn't quit.

God, all of Citizen Soldier's songs are a blessing to hear. I was thinking of suicide at the start of my teenage years, y'know 13-14 - if I had taken my life that very day, I would have never gotten to say I lived a life at all. I never would have managed to figure out what the future has in store, and my story would have ended far before it started. These songs speak to me, in a way I never thought music could. I love these songs. I never cried so much when I heard your songs. These song struck a chord with me because many of these song I have felt many times in my life and even now. It is hard to keep fighting when the world seems to only keep tearing you down. People can be cruel. This song makes me cry like a baby. I wish my brother could have heard this. He's one of the 22 vets a day that lost their fight that was nearly 14 years ago and it still hurts so much. So it makes this song so painful beautiful song to me.
