The extra acceleration for crossing intersections and moving with traffic is great, but I also think that having two separate power systems is a good way to eliminate any chance of complete power loss. Even if one motor strips its gears, drops a magnet, or loses its controller, you aren't suddenly on a heavy bike in 7th gear trying to pedal across an intersection with puny human legs. It seems like good insurance for people who ride in a lot of traffic. And though I wouldn't normally want to ride using just a front motor, I would be real happy to ride that way if it was the only one still running.

I went dual motor just so I wouldn’t lose a lot of speed when going up hills, and also yes the acceleration of course.

yes the little power bursts you can give for hills and traffic is very nice to have and like you said, most of the time i just ride with rear wheel and only use the front when needed.

Often when new bikes are shipped they come with round foam rings with a hole in the center to protect the wheel. I kept mine and are great to put underneath the tire when working on or installing a new tube & tire. Keeps the axle up and wheel flat to work on. Nice kit for the diy’r.

You sure that conversion kit will fit most bikes? The front fork has to be fat tire compatible right.. my 27.5 mtn bike tires barely fit..

Looks great. 2 questions for you. #1. I have a dual crown fork for my 26×4 tires. I assume this would be fine, or is the kit specific to RST? Do I need to add back on my old RST fork. 2. Does this come with instructions? This would be my 1st time trying something like this.
@CitizenCycle925
@CitizenCycle925 12 күн бұрын
@Ae073001 you just need to have forks with very strong dropouts. I always recommend the rst guide because they have never failed me. not sure what your double crown Fork looks like or how strong the dropouts are but you definitely don't want those to break as you're going down the road. I do have a set of written instructions I can send. I've also done several videos installing on various bikes that you could reference

I wonder how this would work on an xp lite 2.0 that usually has no power after 20mph. Would This make the xp lite by Lectric faster?
@CitizenCycle925
@CitizenCycle925 18 күн бұрын
@@joeysSEMassachusettsWeather the top speed of the front motor kit by itself is usually about 31mph so if your bike does not go that fast then yes it would help your top speed but it's more designed to help with Hill Climb power.

Will that Freesky bag fit on an Aventon Aventure 2 rear rack? Aventon doesn't have anything I like, and the shop where I bought the ebike has no aftermarket storage bag that fits the rack.
@CitizenCycle925
@CitizenCycle925 18 күн бұрын

It's always easier just to buy in a dual motor ebike from the start. But to get something with similar power you'll spend over $2,000. If you really love your bike and want a fun project you can upgrade for about $1k. Or try to sell your bike for $1k then spend $2k on a new. one kind of a wash.

For the magic cycle Cruiser you would also need to swap out the front fork so you have a fork strong enough to hold the motor. doing this front motor addition is not a cheap option. I sell them at www.citizenperformance.com you can also email me any questions at info@ citizenperformance.com
