I love your range tests. They show what the bike can do when pushed hard. I think it would be interesting if you also included the average speed that the display recorded for the trip. Thanks for the great video.

On my Fabulous Ebike 48v EMX Xtreme with dual 500w motors I often watch the watt display as I ride. I've been surprised to notice that in some situations the watts being used will actually be less in AWD. Accelerating from a stop will always use more watts when in AWD but while at steady speed with active pedalling, single motor mode can actually draw more watts. I'm thinking it has to do with how hard the motor(s) have to work to maintain the speed. In some instances two motors do it with less overall battery draw.

After watching this, I feel the need for a 1000 watt front hub motor for my wicked cruiser. Maybe wired bikes could put out an after market kit.

Can't speak for the Road Warrior, but Fabulous's EMX-Extreme allowed you to adjust the low voltage cutoff point. I just let it be as it's there to protect the battery from being drained completely. Plus I use the Extreme for trails and mud...so the amount of miles at any given one time are not all that high. I did adjust how "hard" the front motor hits upon start-up as I saw no need to spin the front wheel every time I hit it in dual motor mode.

Good range test, I appreciate the amount of information that you install in your videos. Here's some food for thought... Not everybody is going to pedal as hard as you do. My personal objective is to get an e-bike so I don't have to pedal. Maybe you could do a throttle only range test on some of your bike? The main one I'm interested in would be in the Wired Freedom.

I had to pedal mine once when the brake censer's were out of adjustment . I was about 2 or 3 miles from home out in the country, just need to be in a lower gear !!

Range test are not easy as it depends on weight of the person, where you live if you have a lot of inclines and if you are dealing with a lot of wind. One test can end up different over another.
@MultiSkyman1 Жыл бұрын
On theses throttle equipped bikes, I though pedal assist had effect on throttle only riding. I though being in the right gear though, helps the motor when in throttle only riding e.g., being in low gear for riding up hills.

Great test brother, but that's a tiny BATTERY. ALL these companies put TINY batteries on these ebikes. That needs a minimum 60v40AHs. With that battery I'd BE LUCKY to get 15-20miles MAX.

great info about a year old, but I like it im needing a logging road rider - Im be tween AWD or a mid drive .Im hoping for at least a 750 watt on the mid drive. as long as it can go where a loaded truck goes - Id be happy - any trails would be a bonus the grades tend to run from 2 to 3 miles uphill average 12% to 20% Im thinking a hub drive "might" overheat(?) there long pulls. the roads are dirt & I like to ride around 14mph or so uphills,when possible, I slow down for the water bars. my ebike does it for about 3/4th of a mile, but it dont have hub temp sensors & I worry about it. Ive done it a few times and the hubs feel fine to touch, but I hear them whine a bit will an AWD do better for me? or should I get a mid drive? [some days Im lazy & just dont "want" to pedal] Im old 63 6'4" 230 lbs so Im not a lightweight. my added weight Might be a few tools na tube to fix a flat [if I have to]

Thanks for the video. I’m happy with my purchase of the Wired Freedom. I believe wired gives more bang for your buck. This is a nice bike but for me it wasn’t worth giving up full suspension for $800 more.
@robertlong5118 Жыл бұрын
I couldn't agree more, especially if they're Wired is going to get me another 5 mi further. There are things you can do to increase your range (like get an extra battery) but once you buy a hardtail bike there's no hope to improve the suspension. Without a major overhaul.

I don’t think it’s and 800. Difference knocking off shipping and currency difference it’s actually very close- I see about maybe 200. Difference with the current sales price

You also had two motors drawing on that battery. Probably if you were running one only your range would’ve been quite well.

I know it’s kind of subjective but how do you “feel” the build/part quality is compared to the Wired/Magicycle/Hemiway bikes in this class? This bike is really sounding like the exact set up I am looking for at the >$3k price range. I’m looking for the high quality feel too though. I’m most familiar with Magicycle build quality fyi. Not top notch but not junky/cheap feeling either.

Those batteries really don't like being drained all the way down. Every time you do it you shorten it's life. With the battery almost dead I'd put it back in one wheel drive to limp home.

Strange, I only have a 48v 20 amp hour battery but I got 36 miles full throttle without any peddling at 19.5 miles per hour. Maybe it has to do with it having 14 inch tires instead of full sized?

@Dgarcia I don't have That bike, I just no What I AVERAGE per charge on ALL EBIKES. ItS JUST physics 101. I'm BIG and I drive the way MOST PEOPLE DRIVE. this is my only form if transportation. THEY NEED TO MAKE ALL RANGE TEST AT FULL THROTTLE/PAS 5 AND MAX WEIGGT(400LBS) BIKE CAN HOLD, NOW THATS A REAL TEST. These companies test with chinamen on them NOT AMERICANS, I'm 6 2 250 and I'm the tiny one in family(height wise). But there's know men in my family that weigh less then 210.
