I have struggled with depression not developed but biological but if I a fat kid who can’t do much can make it through then others can but if there is one piece of advise I can give is don’t hide it the longer you hide it the more it builds until your personal day of judgment and finally bring the knife to your neck if you have let it build it becomes almost impossible to stop yourself so when you get to that point remember that someone wants you around and If you’re not there you could send another person into their own depression telling themselves they weren’t enough to keep you here so if you won’t keep going for yourself do it for other people. Now I know people won’t see this but if you do spread the message that someone needs you and you will soon find something to stay in this world for

I feel that, for the longest time I could only see the bad in the world. I shut myself in and kept telling myself that the outside world isn't worth my time. To this day I still feel that way because I don't know how to feel any other way. You know how bad it is when all you can think is 'I hate' you have nothing to direct your anger at, its just everything, you feel this uncontrollable anger at the entire world, and then once it leaves you, you feel cold. You feel as if the world isn't worth living in. I would know, because that's happening. my anger has left me, and now all I feel is the freezing cold.

It’s been an on going battle for years, and I’ve always struggled. The pain of feeling like no one understands the hell in your head, feeling as if you are alone. I never realized how numb I truly was until I listened to this song. I listened to this song carefully and finally felt like someone understood. I cried numerous times, such a beautiful song that holds a special place in my heart. I almost took my life many times and still think about it, not thinking would care or notice I was gone. As someone who attempted suicide 3 years ago and survived, I personally think this is the best song ever written on suicide prevention, because it does something unique, it's final lyrics can be interpreted in 2 different ways. Other songs like _"Why?"_ (Rascal Flatts) or _"How to save a life"_ (The Fray) focus mainly on the way your own suicide would make *_others_* feel in hopes that knowing so will stop you from doing it in the future. And that approach is good, and effective, after all, some people are desperate to be reminded how much their loved ones would miss them, like the lyrics in this song express. And in fact I think the lyrics of this song can also be interpreted this way (more on that later). However, I think the final lyrics can also be interpreted in another way, as in saying: *It shouldn't matter how others would feel! What matters is that you're unique, and that's an undeniable fact, even if no one can see it.* Notice how the lyrics don't change the question format after the bridge when talking about how others would feel: _"Would anyone care? Would anyone cry?"_ But when talking about the change your death would bring to the world, the lyrics drop the question format, the lyrics are now stating themselves as a fact (because well, from this point on, they indeed ARE a fact): _"The world would be changed! If you left it behind, you can't be replaced no! Tonight is the night you take back your life!"_ Sure, the latter lyrics can also be interpreted as a response to the questions made by the former lyrics as in: *Would anyone care? People ask why I love "sad" songs, to me they aren't sad songs. They're songs that allow me to release my pent up emotions in a controllable manner and instead of exploding into a flood these songs allow me to let these emotions flow through my body like a river. In my opinion no song is ever "sad", they are always inspirational or soothing. Whether it may seem sad to me but it may seem comforting to the next person, that is why I love songs like this one, no song is ever too sad for one person. P.S. Edit We all deal with struggles and our own battles, but I wish for everyone to remember a war is never won alone, please remind yourselves you are never truly alone. Mental health is a serious issue, suicide may seem like the right answer when your vision and thoughts are clouded, but that is only because mentally you are clouded and the path is blurred, and I wish more people/studies spread this reality that it is HARD to see the proper pathway when blinded. Therapists are literally trained in positive coping, they are a neutral party who are legally obligated to not share your shit (but are required to make sure you cannot hurt yourself or others), and they can talk you through things and untangle the ball of knots in your head. Friends are amazing and help in their own ways, and they are supportive and helpful and will do what they can to help you, but please remember that they are not responsible for making you better, and they have their own shit to deal with sometimes, too.

Yeah, I'm unique. Doesn't mean worth preserving. There is nothing out there for me to look forward to. The therapist has run out of answers. I do not trust my parents, nor do I really respect them that much anymore after spending a year with them and getting a long look. I'm only holding my sister back by hoovering up resources. When a dog is blind, deaf, and facing kidney failure, do we try to extend its life at all costs? Or extend mercy and put it down? Animals know when their time is up. Yet when a human accepts that there is no life left to live and that they are permanently damaged or defective beyond all accommodation or repair, people insist we aren't supposed to find peace. If I had a spine, I'd walk out into the cold to die.

The traits such as worthless in this song are things that echo in my head when dealing with my depression as ways to describe myself and I truly wonder if those who are close to me see me as a burden so for me this song resonates with me. It’s been almost a seven year battle for me and the biggest thing that saved me is having friends who have similar battles they deal with daily and I’m not going to lie at times I still wonder is it still worth fighting for? A piece of advice only if you need it Everyone and i mean everyone are worthy to love. If you want a reason to stay and keep fighting then you know do it for yourself, your dreams, loved ones and especially for your future. Work so hard that when the time comes for your death everyone will notice and remember you as a legend. One day, I woke up in the middle of the night, as I usually do. I went to the medicine cabinet and opened the bottle. I can't remember what it was, but for some reason, I just put it back and went back to bed. I almost gave up that night, but today, years later, I have completed my therapy, have a job, amazing friends, and hobbies that give me great joy.
