Thank's for unloading, i noticed my Citroen Dispatch is making a loud humming noise from the fuel filter area, when i turn it off. I don't think my mechanic pumped the fuel line correctly, what do you think i should do?

Is there a reason the fuel filter housing isnt filled with fresh diesel to save work on the priming amount.

So why didn't you use the bleed screw on top of the filter housing before using the pipework.

That screw is not for bleeding purpose but instead it is for water drainage found in the fuel filter.

@@stanhopeautorepaircentrewardak When I worked for Peugeot we used the screw as that was the recommended method as water sits under diesel or if that didn't work we attached a rubber hose to the filter outlet and the other end into a container and used the priming bubble to fill the filter. I can see that your method does work, just saying that there is a different way of bleeding the system.

@@stanhopeautorepaircentrewardak is not for water drainage, this is special bleeder screw. There are 2 different types of filters available for this machine. You must be open it and wach type. You did a lot of unnecessary work on the aeration.

The screw to remove the water is never up, the water will sink down.

As I'm just about to attempt this job what is the correct procedure ? Unscrew the bleed screw slightly or completely and use the hand pump to feed fuel back into the system until it expels any air from the top (i.e. diesel comes out the top) ? Thanks a lot.
