French cars underappreciated down under and it's a bloody shame. The ride quality is just sublime and the engineering in them is great. Not all of them are made the same but I like the quirkiness of this Citroen and sure it would be a reliable, enjoyable car to own.

With such a small dealer network a brave person purchases a Citroen.

Who needs the dealer anyway? I have never been to the dealer for an issue in my life. I do my own research and order parts myself, and either service myself or take to local mechanic. But modern French cars are just as reliable as anything else, I wouldn't worry about it.

Why would that matter? Most people who purchase these would be in the cities and I doubt the city dealerships would be going anywhere

I have owned 2 Citroen c5s over the past 9 years. The suspension is very smooth and the Diesel engines have been powerful. My current model is a limited edition with 2.2 litre turbo diesel. Never had any issues with the cars. My concern with the air cross is the lack of power and the cost of running it on premium fuel. That could be the deal breaker.

I assume that you're in Australia, in Europe most people will buy the 130hp and that's enough. And if that's enough in Europe, it should be enough in Australia. This car can run on RON 91 by the way. You'll have 150hp instead of 165, but that's enough really.
@andytunbridge99395 жыл бұрын
Yes I am in Australia and I always enjoy long driving with the ability to overtake without fear of lack of power. Do you have one of these in Europe and how is the market taking this up over there. Unfortunately we don’t have any in stock yet to test drive but would be interested in owner reviews
@dufonrafal5 жыл бұрын
Andy Tunbridge O I don’t have one no. I’m starting to see a lot of them though. And I have no doubt that the 1.6 165 won’t lack power. In Europe most people go for the 1.2 130 and it’s already enough. I’ve test driven the DS7 1.6 180 (replace the 165 in Europe, and we have it on the C5, don’t know why they stick with the 165 in Australia) and it has plenty of power.

Yet another review where we are left guessing whether or not the car carries a spare wheel.

you can get it with full size spare wheel … at least here in europe…. and with eight speed automatic… I think Richard said six speed in this review

@bigchief23315 жыл бұрын
Really? So why is the Peugeot 504 seen all around Africa and just keeps going and going? And modern French cars are very reliable, Peugeot actually one of the most reliable brands in the UK according to recent study. Peugeot 308 won car of the year 2014 and from all reports is a great car to own, now we have the 3008 and 5008 which are amazing too and many more exciting things on the horizon for Peugeot with the e-legend concept, new 208, 508 etc etc. Citroen I have always loved for their quirky styling and ride comfort. French brands don't do enough marketing that is their downfall, but for those who know a thing or two about cars know they are great buying and fun to drive, and not expensive to run at all. BMW and Mercedes are not known for their reliability either, and they cost a bloody fortune to maintain.

There's nothing wrong with modern Citroen vehicles, a lot of the parts are shared across from Peugeot, which has a longer record of reliability.
