Steering shell needs to be out and down as far as it will go. There are two dimples on the facia, put a credit card under each one push in and the dash pops forward. Turn the dash to the side and there's a clip over the harness port, fold the clip over to unfasten the joint, don't just pull it. Unclip the black clips to remove the front cover. The Speedo needle is held onto the stepper motor with a small rubber tube, this year's up, expands and drops the needle. Pull the needle off and put a small blog of glue in the tube, replace the needle so it points at the 0 mph position. Reassemble and it's done and doesn't look like it's been tampered with. All good.

Hi, Thank you for comment and dislike I unclear described the problem in the video. You beautifully described how to fix other problem not mine read the problem description. On amendments: 1.Steering shell needs to be out and down as far as it will go - Nice but not important. 2. There are two dimples on the facia, put a credit card under each one push in and the dash pops forward - It's important not to break anything, but if you using credit cards or other plastic tools it is less important. 3. Turn the dash to the side and there's a clip over the harness port, fold the clip over to unfasten the joint, don't just pull it - There is no clip on my car, its broken. It's a pity that the previous owner of the car did not read your comment. It would help him. 4. Pull the needle off and put a small blog of glue in the tube, replace the needle so it points at the 0 mph position - Not the best solution to glue the pointer to the motor shaft. Thanks Again. I did this. Works good. One drop of super glue in the tube and it stays on 0. But be careful so you dont drop glue on the dashboard like I did, not much but a small blob that no one else than me will notice.

Hello. I was wondering, would it be possible to just move The needle and superglue a plasticpin in the right position while not completly removing The speedometer but just The plastic screen? Maybe it would ruin some sort of calibration if The whole thing isnt unplugged? Greetings from your biggest fan in sweden.

Can this make the Speedo show the wrong speed? Right now I kinda noticed that it says 100 kmh on the cruise control and I am driving with 95 at the speedo. I also confirmed with GPS. 100 kmh on the speedo and 106 on the GPS. I have the correct tire size.

Hi,Check if the pointer/needle points on zero. if not just open the cluster and correct the pointer beginning position. read the description of the problem under the video and try to understand if you have the same problem or not.

I can assure you, this is the solution MAZDA is using in their instrument clusters to keep the needle from falling lower than the low position. Our work SUV is a Mazda Tribute and that's how it is. Pretty sure other manufacturers use the same solution. Now the glue on the motor axle.......mmm.....good but a bit invasive, you'll need to be carefull with glue running down the axle. For me it's a disaster waiting to happen. The stick is a more "relaxed" solution. AND equally future proof.

My spedometer and rpm gadge droped for like 10kmh and car works in like 200rpm in idle but it shows 800 on diagnostic. is it the same problem like here becuse they both droped at the same time...

Hi, Turn off the engine. the pointers should be on zero. if it lower then Yes.

I own a c2 and I have a similar issue, sometimes the speedometer marks 0 when the car is moving. Is it the speed sensor?

Hi, You need to test it. Read the problem description under the video, and do the same test as i did, only then you will know for sure if this solution suitable for you or you need to change the stepper motor. Good luck!

I am fixed kmh and rpm instruments(needles) with strong stick becase in my case small plastic pices of needles are broken.They are so tiney.

He, he, he,.... Are You sure that the wrong speed indication has been fixed ? Why you did not pull out the needle from their axis and install it again in correct position? The error of indication stays the same. You only protected the needle to drop bellow zero while your car in not moving :-)

Yes agree the speed will read incorrectly. In most cases the needle hole is cracked or worn and it's slipping on the shaft. Pull the needle off and restore to 0 position, if just worn maybe gently score the shaft to restore grip or insert a tiny piece of cotton thread or fine flat dental floss into the needle hole for the shaft. If cracked pull the needle off and the crack will close because it's not being stressed, find a way to seal the crack, add a correctly sized collar/ring made from metal tubing, or cut from small capacitor can or fuse cap, plastic or whatever, around the needle neck depending on the design or a quick dab with a hot soldering iron to seal the plastic split or epoxy or super glue and baking soda, whatever, be creative.

Hey hola,se que es un poco tarde pero quería compartirles otra manera para arreglarlo ya que mi papa tiene un c5 hdi 2.0 y tambien nos paso lo mismo ,lo que el hizo es pegar la aguja ya que se suelen partir,y la puso en 0 y la dejo una 24 horas y ya esta,quería compartir mi idea por que talvez si vas a vender el auto El que te lo compra lo le gusta q halla un plastico en el tablero Eso era jaja
