The Chinese whisper is what was whispered through the ears of innocent naive Indians by British plants that gandy is great and Indians believed that narrative. Sergeant gandy was an evil as even Ambedkar had narrated to BBC. Gandy was just furthering British interests in India and he stole the ideas of Lala Lajpat Rai and other freedom warriors but made them non violent just like British wanted. Bro Gandhi may b wrong at many places.. But overall he did non violent protests, told Satyamev jayate.. He lived a simple life unlike today's politicians.. He fought for the freedom bro.. At least let's be grateful to all freedom fighters including Gandhi.. He was a human being too just like us.. So some wrong decisions are possible.. But unlike us leaning on our couches and watching TV those days do and night they made protests, fought in the streets, organised people, had meetings many gave sacrifices.. Gandhi too died due to political reasons.. Overall those people weren't seeking the comfort that we enjoy selfishly today.. He could have earned and got a car and lived a life of comfort as he was barrister himself.. They sacrificed their life ND lifestyle for the nation... How many of us would leave our education, leave our profession ND livelihood for the nation??? At least they did so let's learn to be grateful.. Criticising is much easier.. He at least organised all people throughout India.. There has been fight for freedom always but never could be possible.. But he organised and lot of regions AnD people came together and so the British had to leave and we r enjoying now.. I don't say he is God but I feel he doesn't deserve criticism... Unlike Nehru and Jinnah he wasn't selfish.. He didn't want to be the pm or president or want posts.. He is happy that India got independent and sad that there had to partition...and if he was a bad person.. How did the contemporary leaders starting from Lal bahadur shstri , sardar Patel, chidambaram and everyone else respect his word..... What would he gain being an agent of British, he wasn't behind riches or political power... Don't Create false castles..

Gandhi was like a pressure cooker. While many freedom fighters wanted an armed resistance against the British, Gandhi wanted so called 'ahimsa'. So the British promoted Gandhi, so that Indian Independence movement is non violent so that British can squash it easily. Why did British execute Bhagat Singh? they could've easily done it with Gandhi too. But they were smart, they didnt, because Gandhi made the independence movement non violent, which realistically and objectively speaking made it weak. Gandhi failed because he could not prevent partition. He did not force Britain to leave India against their will. Britain had extreme bankruptcy from WW2. They could not afford to maintain their hold over India. Also, during this time, Subhash Chandra Bose's Indian army had become 40,000 to 50,000 strong. The British knew that if they had to deal with an army of 100,000 plus people, they would not be able to maintain their hold on India. Since, Britain at that time, could not have such a large stationed army in India. Gandhi removed Bose from Congress party presidency, made a crook like Nehru the prime minister, could not prevent partition, forced India to give Pakistan some reparation money after partition as well. I think Gandhi was nothing more than an idealistic fool who did not realize the national building requires ruthlessness. Along with that, 1947 was a great time to send Indian Muslims to Pakistan. I'm not saying this because of religion, I'm saying this because if all Muslims had left India, then India would have 200 million less people today, more resources per capita, more water per capita, more internal security, higher literacy rate, higher GDP per capita, more religious harmony. Pakistan sent all Hindus here, but we did not do anything. Along with this, At the partition, South Asia had about 77% Hindus, and about 23% Muslims roughly speaking. If you take the area of India and divide it by the area of South Asia (India + Pakistan + Bangladesh), you'll get about 78% or so. So India was meant to be only for Hindus, as that's how the resource division would have been optimal. But India added Muslims too, meaning that Pakistan had more resources per capita, and India had fewer resources per capita. India is still suffering today due to the lala-land 'idealism' of Gandhi. If you want to get something in life, you have to be ruthless, smart, tactical. Sitting around like Gandhi with so called 'ideals' gets you nothing but suffering. I just wish Hindus had a sharp leader like Jinnah to represent them. I view Jinnah as a villian, but he is nothing less than a messiah for Muslims due to his sharp wit. I hope that another Jinnah is born, but this time, this Jinnah works for Hindus. And I sincerely hope that a Gandhi is born in Pakistan, so that he can make them weaker.

You should have studied more before making inferences and assumptions about Gandhi. Can you name one great man of history or present era who could appeal to all, could be an ideal father, son, husband, leader, friend, brother, professional or a good Samaritan all d time❓🤷 Gandhi was a human being, so he was supposed to have certain weaknesses. But his merits outnumber his shortcomings. He came to India in 1915, left congress in 1934, went solo in demanding arms license for self defense for Indians from Britishers. Nehru mocked his demand. But Nehru also knew his ability to move d masses.... so when Gandhi declared that congress should be dissolved for paving way for a healthy democracy, Nehru n Maulana Got him killed d same day he was about to express his wish in a public meeting after prayers. Many articles, letters and notes claimed by historians as originally written by Gandhi are fake. British know what to sell in d name of Gandhi. When did Gandhi say that offer another cheek after getting a slap on d first one?

In chaos of that time, where there was no social media. It was difficult for a leader to convey d right strategy, change of plans and even to refute instantly when someone quotes him erroneously. That's why people like Maulana n Nehru took control posing to be Gandhi's spokesmen, n spread rumours of him being pro-muslims, because this is what they wanted him to be. How can a Nation that has been there for many many thousands of yrs manage to get a Father of the Nation only in the 20th century? How can an individual who seldom advocated complete independence be the Father of the Nation? How can an individual who was the co-architect of Partition of India (helping the Pakistan cause in both active and passive ways) be the Father of the Nation?

Since childhood, I was never a big fan of Nehru or Gandhi!!! Coz the visuals said it all… However, the school textbooks always portrayed them great (as it was distorted) ; later when I started non-textbook readings esp about Lal,Bal,Pal, Sardar Patel, Netaji etc I was very clear who our real freedom fighters were!!!

The thing I hate about the books is that they don't say enough about Lal Bal Pal and not even once did I read about them in detail from the curriculum books...Not even once the books mention about the greatness and sacrifices of Young nationalists like bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, Chandrashekhar aazaad, Khudiram bose, Sardar Udham Singh, and so many more.... But what the books did not forget to mention is the appreciation of Brits.... Like the telephone line and railways....which in my opinion were the farthest thing from development... They just introduced it all to make it easier to exploit India...

Gandhi was an opportunist who spent more than 30 years outside India, first in UK and then in South Africa. But suddenly decided to return to India and gain attention. He did not endure misery like the Indians did but took credit for independence of India. Something like Trump who was a showman all his life but suddenly decided to run for US presidency without having much experience or background. I guess such people know how to appease the masses.

When I read the History textbook in 10th. It was breathtaking at beginning with 1857 War of Independence. Then it was very strategically revolts lead by Lal, Bal, Pal. After that all went downhill. Everywhere just horrific incidents from British side and we Indians either getting persecuted or forced to surrender by MK Gandhi. It was very hard to read all these incidents and harder to accept Gandhi as true Freedom Fighter. Now I got know why because he was a British Agent working against us.

On a personal level, this maybe applicable somewhere. Remember it says, 'show your other cheek'. But on a political level its foolishness. You do what is needed there. Saam, daam, danda, bheda are names of such tools. Where things can work with discussion do that. Where money is useful, do that. Where creating discord (similar to divide and rule) is useful, do that. And where violence is useful do that. We always tend to see politics as bad. But in its real form, where its actually used for benefit of the people, that's good. Gandhi's thing was he mixed the personal with the public sphere. That's some kind of delusion.

Well as a matter of fact, No.. he's not father of the nation. Article 18 of Indian constitution prohibits that. Hence government of India never conferred Gandhi with any such title. Informally he's addressed as father of nation. People say that Bose called him so in a speech in radio... I'm not 100 percent sure though because it was audio and not video.
