Even in the gloom of the typical British weather the UK is such a beautiful country with deep history presented all around us like a movie set, even above and below. From hustle and bustle of modern streets merging into an adventurous but calming historical trails and landscapes [and soundscapes]. If only we could remove the cars from this picture, maybe we can all step back take a breath and appreciate our wonderous Britain. Never been to Worchester so thank for the tour, mate.

Hi Terence, thank you for your comments. My parents always describe what I'm walking past to help me form a picture of my surroundings

Hi, Worcester is lovely, especially when you get away from the traffic. Its the electric cars, scooters and bikes that worry me as you can't hear them coming.

Hi George, I enjoyed this video, first I watched it as I've never been to Worcester but often wondered what it was like. Seems like a nice town centre, even on a damp and overcast day. I then played it with my eyes closed, to experience the soundscape and what a different experience it was. I found there were some things I picked up on much more clearly with my eyes closed like the old ladies talking or a delivery man on a phone that I didn't really take notice of when I watched the video. The sound of the bicycle was quite frightening with my eyes closed, as it had an unusual sound and it seemed to come much faster when I couldn't see it. Thanks for uploading this, it was like lesson in experiencing the world from someone else's perspective.

Hi Adam, thank you for watching and thanks for re watching from my perspective. The traffic noise can be very disorientating, I am even more concerned about electric cars, scooters and bikes as I really can't hear them coming. I did enjoy the walk though and will do a couple around London, its too big to do all at once. Keep a look out for them.

Hi George, I was wondering if you had any thoughts on the pedestrianisation of town/city centres, and how pedestrianisation can impact the soundscape of urban areas. As a sighted person, I've never given the sounds of a city (and cars typically found there) much thought. Your video has made me think to consider the impact a quiet environment can have on ones mental clarity.

Hi Den, thanks for your comments. Personally I am much more comfortable and confident in pedestrianised areas as I don't have to worry about traffic. Traffic is even more of a problem now that we have electric cars, scooters and bikes as I can't hear them from a distance. Sounds are important to me when travelling as I can use them to orientate myself.
