The story of two soulmates one fallen and the other who was finally allowed to give her the love that she needs for her to heal and become an angel again.. he has to jump because she would have been saved if he had given her that love a long time ago.. they can’t reunite because what she has done since was too great like her vengeance on God and the soul that her soulmate mated with after her fall. Of course she also mated with another. I am the true soul that her soulmate mated with afterwards. And man were they vengeful.

@@artfquinn its mostly equally as sad i think. in both cases a choice is made that in one case was to choose to be happy bc of someone else being in your life and the other choice you reconcile it bc you think you are “saving” someone from something worse. both choices in the end end up being inherently flawed anyway. feeling like you have to kill someone to save them would have always been bad anyway… in the mist he has to live out his life knowing what eventually happened but he made his decision on what info he had. but nick cages character might have made her death a reality bc would she have been where she was when she died had they not been together…

I'm shocked by the number of comments that say the ending is depressing. Yes, it's sad. But it's final scene was uplifting in it conveying Seth embracing all the new sensations of life, it showed that it all wasn't just about his love for Maggie.

This is crazy. I have never seen this film nor even knew it existed. I’m writing a tv series about a man who is half Angel and half human. There is a flash back episode which tells the story of how his parents met. The Angel is called Nathaniel 😭 and it’s so similar to this. He can also make himself invisible but she senses his presence. I was trying to find a right song for their love story. I googled 90s love songs (story takes place in the 90s) and Iris by the goo goo dolls was one of the ones on the playlist that came up, I listened to the lyrics and was so shocked at how well it fit with my story and I was like this is perfect! Wrote down my interpretation of the lyrics, about how they relate to my characters. Googled the actual meaning of the song, and it was written for this film, and it’s exactly what I wrote down! X

first time in a while i watched a movie until the every bits of the movie credits. i just watched the screen with my tears drying on my face. i knew it was gonna happen while watching it. somehow i just knew i mean anyone could've also when one just chooses to watch carefully and rlly focus. i knew a tragedy was waiting but it still hurts seeing their faces, feeling their emotions, and hearing what they say to each other. I decided to watch this cause i just knew after all these years that Iris by Goo Goo Dolls was made for this movie. I have always liked the lyrics and relate it sm with life but it hits deeper now cause when I'll listen and sing to it again, I will be remembering a fallen angel cause he was inlove.

My Best friend Jay (yes, a guy), and I never missed a movie together. Our daughters were the same age and we did everything together. Fast forward a friday night. He tell's me he HAD to go see this movie "City Of Angels" while I was at work. At 9pm he left telling me repeatedly I HAD to see this movie!!! He mentioned he had found some blood in his ear that day but blew it off as just a scratch. God how I wish I had known then that I would never see him alive again, he was only 39, and left behind a 4yr old daughter who no longer remembers the man who gave up everything for her (Even dating, I was happily married). This movie means more to me then I could ever express. I see as a sign, though I have never really come to terms with his death and it's been 24yrs.....Still feels like yesterday.

I thought good angels are supposed to wear white and the bad angels are supposed to wear black. in this movie city of angels, the angels wear black instead of a white. no matter what this is still is a wonderful movie.
