City Water Check Valve RV🚎| Easy DIY |🧑‍🔧Sunday Solution

Randy walks you through how to troubleshoot a leaky City Water Check Valve RV, it’s an easy DIY. Is your city water check valve on your RV leaking when using your freshwater tank and water pump while dry camping? Is your RV water pump pulsating on & off when you’re not using water? It could be just a little dirt in the screen or you may need a new one. Randy shows you how to do both. He disassembles the City Water Check Valve connection to check the plastic check valve plunger, spring, retaining clip and the small rubber O-ring. After this “fix” our check valve was still slightly leaking so he ordered up a new check valve to install on our RV.

I would have just put a shut off valve on the connection...

I am surprised he can easily press that button with the pump on. I can barely press it under pressure. I haft to press it to pump to winterize. My work around is to press the button with the pump off and then have my friend turn the pump on.

Bro. Thank you! Havent been in an RV long, the water pump was working fine on the filled tank and had plenty of pressure at the hose, but no city water was coming in. I popped that screen and poked the valve a bit and BOOM mist of water popped out and when the city water was hooked back up we had water tysm. 💧 🥳

I replaced the inlet and still have back pressure that is high enough that it leaks from where the plastic hose connects, yet with hose connected I'm not getting water flow from any inside faucets. I have no idea where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated. I live in my 2021 Rockwood 5th wheel.

Is it possible you put the check valve in backwards? There should be an arrow on it indicating water flow
