It is true that they are not theologically sound, there are several videos explaining their theology which is at odds with scripture, best example is a video I found that proclaims why my church no longer sings bethel, hillsong and elevation music, I forget the pastor's name I will find it and bring it back to you I don't know how to post these links on my phone

I'm not a musician, but it is the wonder of what I believe is called meter. This is why many hymns can be sung with different hymn tunes. A favorite is When I Survey the Wonderous Cross. It has at least 4 tunes that it can be sung too, including an African tribal. Another fun example is Amazing Grace sung to the tune of The House of the Rising Sun. Check out the Blind Boys of Alabama. Cheers.

I've said it once and ill say it again, I LOVE THIS BAND, rich with good and sound doctrine and not just filled with "fuzzy feeling emotions" its not exactly the modern "christian" music you hear from other so called christian bands. Its so unique in its expression of words and music that actually is good for the spirit and not just our feelings. In fact, these types of songs do make you feel good but only if you meditate on the words that are sung and connect it to scripture, and its an easy connection too, since the words are filled with sound doctrine

Your music 🎶 is a blessing to me since high school now it's two years since I finished to join university and i can remember there was this day my mom wasn't having enough fees and what came up into my mind is cityalight music which strengthened me the whole night knowing very well I will be missing my exams.... and I can testify that God hears our cry though I missed one unit I was able to do other units... God lives , He reigns and when we feel a little bit weak yeasss He's more closer to us reminding us there will be light at the end of the tunnel He got us covered all we have to do is just have faith and keep our trust in Him.

I completely agree. I used to be a very avid "Prosperity gospel" believer because I was led astray by my old pastor. After I went on a journey and then learned of all the garbage that I once believed was not true, I not only flipped and changed everything I believed to be Bible centered beliefs, I also now can't stand "christian" music anymore that is not theologically sound. I cant listen to anything anymore unless it is theologically correct lyrics.
