Omaha has gotta be one of the most underrated cities out there. Despite there being no major landmarks or worldwide notable things. It's a very nice place for families and has a wonderful vibe.

I visited Omaha last summer as a stop while taking the Amtrak from SLC to Chicago. I mainly wanted to visit the Henry Doorly Zoo, which exceeded my already high expectations, but it was a surprisingly nice city! Great food and drink, cool neighborhoods, nice parks close by, and while I missed the college World Series, I got to see the Omaha Storm chasers, which was a great ballpark as well. I’ll be back someday!

5:23 I'm the engineer that designed the orange lights shown in Gene Leahy Mall. They are aluminum replicas of the original steel structures and they sport LED lights. When they were ordered them, the paint finish was to be "OSHA safety orange" which is the same color as traffic cones. We thought they were out of thier mind, but in the installation they look fantastic!

I’m from Omaha! I’ll say that this city has a lot of potential to be better than it is, but it’s still pretty decent. Most definitely has its problems, especially with much of the city not being walkable. Though, regardless it is a nice place to live and there’s always lots to do.
@richardalvarez23902 ай бұрын
But walkable problems are found in most us cities. Omaha has a very large walkable area compared to other cities of similar size

What about grand Island or Ogallala? Im a man looking for other men, but I wouldnt flaunt with it and I wouldnt marry!!!! Would you accept me living there or would you have a problem with me???

The most unusual thing about Omaha are the NE annexation laws which don't allow people to flee to suburbs as Omaha will just annex them. This means Omaha has the budget to resolve her issues like maintaining policing and housing for the poor at a high level.

I was just in Omaha for one night and I was very surprised at how hopping it was. Could hardly find a place to have breakfast in the morning, all the breakfast restaurants were packed. Was surprising to me because it seems like such a random place for a city

I came across your channel after watching a video about Buffalo, and I absolutely love how precise and well-organised your content is. I'm currently deciding on a city to settle in after graduating, and your videos have been incredibly helpful. Could you also share more about city planning, walkability, and cycling infrastructure? I’m particularly interested in Honolulu, HI; Denver, CO; and Portland, OR. Thank you! Your oppion when comparing those to Buffalo?

Thanks so much!! I'm glad you found my channel! I appreciate the suggestions! I hesitate including some of those topics only because I don't consider myself much of an expert when it comes to walkability and cycling infrastructure. I'll certainly consider it though!

I visited this city for two days back in 2007. I haven’t returned since. While I enjoyed my short stay, I found the air quality (back then) very difficult for me. There was a stench that I smelled throughout the area, which caused me to cancel my planned extended trip. I want to return again but I’m concerned about the air quality and if it’s gotten better.

Conagra moved their headquarters away to Chicago, a decision I expect they are deeply regretting now.
@jeffsbenningtonelkhornvall2207Ай бұрын
While their HQ is in Chicago, Omaha remains their largest employment base.
That greenspace by Downtown with Conagra lake was Jobbers Canyon. A large historic district of late 19th century brick warehouses torn down in the 80s to build a suburban office campus for the poisonous food company Conagra which since moved out. Its a black stain on Omaha.

Steaks are surprisingly bad in Omaha. Gorats sucks. So do most of the big name local steak houses. There are some hidden gems like Jerichos.
