Good in theory but you can't sit on a sofa or occasional chairs at a dining table. I've tried. It's ridiculously low and you feel like a teeny, tiny kid who can't reach his plate.

The sofa is a little low. Maybe put it up on those risers that are meant for your bed. That might work.

Just an idea, in an Ikea catalog I've seen folding chairs stored away on hooks on the wall. They used the chairs as wall art when they weren't in use. I think this idea only works if the chairs are aesthetically pleasing. I've also seen stools used as nightstands & end tables that double as seating

It looks like the sofa sits low at the table. Is the table height adjustable or what do you do if the sofa and/or chairs sit lower than the table?

Yes I was thinking the same. Sofa wouldn't work if table height is not adjustable .

That's easy, invite tall people for those seats (and be selective - no clumsy ones, as you don't want tomato sauce on your white sofa!).

You could always have your plate in your lap with the napkins for the meal itself then your wine afterwards

Two ways to do this. get height adjustable table or put an extra padding (like patio cushions) on the sofa.

This works if you plan ahead and either get a taller sofa (replace your sofa leg) or a shorter table. I don't have an extra room to stuff things in.

PLEASE iron any cloth items!!!!!! If you don't, it takes away from all of your elegant decorating and makes the table look cheap or that you just threw it together because you didn't care.

This set-up literally takes up the whole room so people can't even get up from the table or walk without the entire room having to get up and move for them. And that's before adding walls and doorway traffic.
