100 episodes. When did that happen. In fact who are you, never heard of you in my life? You sound like some crazy bloke who has a slight( huge) obsession with landscaping if you ask me! Don't wanna be rude but if you're gonna be this fixated on building up imaginary cities you should just get a job in that kinda field and actually do something that has a real world impact. Something like a planner for cities or whatever they call those people. Don't ask me I'm not really into that sorta thing. Here's to another 100 eh. That's 100 episodes. Obviously the fires ( which have nothing to do with all those tree's & bushes of course) will number in the 55-65,000
@scamp50002 жыл бұрын
Did anyone think of the children concerning these fires lol? As this map seems prone to fires, I was just wondering do you have your smoke detector policy on? When that policy is on, just as the people seem to pull cars in and out of their pockets, they seem to fill the forests with smoke detectors to help prevent forest fires. It costs a bit of money but you should be producing a good amount of money now to cover it. But I guess Verde Beach wouldn't be the same if it wasn't constantly on fire lol.
@shavranotheferanox78092 жыл бұрын
somewhere between 30 and 50 fires, altho some where maybe double counted cause they apeared in 2 shots, and some where not counted cause it whas 2 in 1 shot and they where counted as 1 (i also counted some of the fire remenents that where learly visible at some points and the black areas in the build timelaps) if you also count all the fires in myrtles revenge its somewhere between 60 and 80

I still vivdly remember the day I discovered your youtube channel. It was around the middle of your Bluffside Crossing series, when the channel was still called "A city planner plays city builders". A few months later you launched the Verde Beach series and, my god, that was something. No Cities Skylines vanilla series looked as epic, as ambitious as this one. And you delivered on that promise episode after episode. The result is one of, if not the, most beautiful cities ever created in vanilla! You're a gem of an educator. I actually learned about Cities Skylines by watching this series. You put so much knowledge in each episode, whether it's about game mechanics or real city planning cases from your experience in Wisconsin. Finally, no content creator can create stories as compelling in Cities Skylines as you do, and I mean that, and I've seen almost each content creator. No one comes close. Those 5179 minutes of Verde Beach or more than 3 and a half day are some of the best ones I've ever spent :) PS: too much fire XD

Holy cow, I can't believe it's been over 5000 hours of Verde Beach. I watched both this series and Clearwater County from the beginning then fell off for a while and caught back up on VB in the last couple months. This week I started back on CC and the difference in your build styles between the series really struck me. In VB, you'll spend a couple episodes developing a very thoughtful neighborhood and have a real addition to the city at the end. In CC, you're spending a whole episode with a couple hotels or a target and really dialing in all the details on a very limited space because the tools are there with all the mods. My personal style is more toward Verde Beach but I really like seeing what you're able to accomplish the the right mod set.

Episode 1 feels like it went up just weeks ago, 100 episodes, jeez. This series got me to try again with the game. I had learned how to get through the unmodded game by doing a battery start, and blocky temporary stages to stay ahead of unlocking the various way points, before finally just redoing everything once I had all the money and tools. It was unsatisfying. Verde Beach series taught me that you can have the challenge of the unmodded game, but also build a story a history and a real feeling city from turn one. And now it's one of my favorite games of all time. What a journey.

I cannot overstate how satisfying and cool watching that one minute timelapse was. I was not here at the start, I just got back into Cities this month after a fair few years of not playing city builders and seeing Cities as a "bad Sim City" (and yes, I actually did like the 2013 version, though it was mostly because of nothing else being available in my mind). Now, that said, I did watch all of the episodes in the last few months/weeks and the journey and the story is so cool to me it inspires me to just slow down on my builds, not get angry at the traffic and start a new one every time, but just care for my city, build it out, understand its needs and making if flourish. I am that speed builder, always at 3x speed, just putting underground highways everywhere to fix the traffic, looking at that population and seeing it as a bad thing if it doesn't go up (doesn't help that that's basically the goal of the game tbh). But it's more than that I think. The game is about having a big vity and still focusing on details, creating a cool space for the tiny insignificant (nomen omen) sims to live in, making sure they have all that they need to just be happy. City builders are awesome, it's just such a shame they're so hard to develop so we don't get more of them!

Its truly amazing and mind-blowing to see the progression of the city summarized. You have done really well with this city! I look forward to seeing the continued development of Palma Del Fuego as well as the push from certain communities to push for the development of pedestria-oriented neighborhoods in order to preserve the environmentalism that has been a core value of the city.

I have learned so much and now can see why certain things were done in places makes driving around so much more fun. These videos have been great to watch, the story has me so invested as well. I still think a video of Myrtle’s revenge would be funny!

I think I'm most nostalgic about the park/forest burning down every episode without fail. Man I laughed so many times.

All I have to say is: WOW. You have really outdone yourself here, Phil, and the time and effort you put into making this video something special absolutely shows! I remember watching the first episode and being unsure about Verde Beach. We had Bluffside Crossing, why did we need this new, vanilla city? But your skill as a player and a content creator have just been growing and growing and you really made Verde Beach into a wonderful journey that we have all been on since that first episode. Thank you so much, and I look forward to the future of Verde Beach.
