I tried gengis khan and his keshigs 2 days ago still at turn 155. I had 1 dark age, once i acquire keshigs and focus on beefing my military.. i hit heroic age and dominate 2 nearby civ.. I find it challenging and fun esprcially when all of the civs team up against you thru congress. And all of the units go one by one by attacking my city..

probably a glitch from liberating a civilizations last city. Its unfortunate, but if it hadn't glitched i think it would have been the right call. You get envoys based on era, but you always start with enough to become suzerain, Mongolia plays very nicely with merchant city states because of the value that trade routes provide, and city states can produce units very rapidly. A cheeky strat would be to wait for them to produce a unit, then levy that unit near korea right as you declare war for a healthy chunk of era score at a discount.

Why don't you trade that diplo favor pretty much right away- you're bleeding it dry! Is it because you value the chance to stave off another emergency higher than the gold?
