i really admire how you manage to be chill while being absolutely wrecked by the unfair ai and are adapting in the moment with strategies that might not be ideal in the long term, but are necessary to your current survival. i'm such a perfectionist when playing that i have a lot of moments where i just quit the game and walk away. i gotta get better at adapting and accepting good-enough solutions.

Even though this was not meant as a tutorial, I think it's one of your most educational Civ videos because unlike most other games you're actually encountering adversity and not just stomping from turn 1. I don't know how it's going to turn out, but I really think seeing this is valuable. I feel like at your darkest hour Winston Churchill gave a speech that gave you the resolve to keep going.

I recon Portugal was also having a tough time with war weariness by the end of that military emergency, and that may have something to do with why they were willing to pay so much for peace.

war weariness is a mechanic you don't see the ai suffer from but they really do! especially if you play Ghandi, it can be funny!

Also, to be clear I'm not knocking you, I'm knocking H.O! It feels so bad to have a secret society you need to save scum before picking because they are the worst SS choice most of the time and at best they are okay and 1 in a million games they are good.

Best defense play I have ever seen :) Magical how science goes from 15 til over 100 there in the end and you are now ahead of many. Portugal who had an amazing game made a strategical mistake going after you and settled Ireland and Iceland instead of taking Rome and settle Tunisia and Norway, that would have been easier for them around turn 50-60 by levying Brussels and Wolin.
@MFD87242 жыл бұрын
After the start you had, I think you would have deserved a treat of a unsettled north America. Surviving the emergency, getting your science out of the dumpster, and breaking free of Europe, only to find North America with no land to claim is a bummer.

With Macedon and France getting 0 culture and science per turn, you know they had no room to settle in place and are roaming out there. Easy 2 settlers, as long as you can defeat a few warriors at most. At some point in this game, I hope you found them. I suppose the other ai don't consider them a target since they have no cities so they haven't declared war, and they were lucky to survive any barbarians.
@UrsaRyan2 жыл бұрын
Every now and then the AI will survive even without settlers as well. it's a bug normally caused on turn one - odd but it happens!
