Regarding the pantheon: The game checks if you have 25 faith when you end the turn. It's always the turn after you get at least 25 faith that you get the pantheon prompt.

The thing about the captured cavalry and how they are super weak and often die is that's exactly what Genghis Khan did. He conquered and then killed or marched the defeated onward near the front line so that they would absorb initial frontal attacks instead of the stronger and more experienced troops, who can be more effective in subsequent pushes.

@gamer1X12 indeed. He also believed highly in meritocracy, and some of his greatest generals, like legendary Jebe, were from the ranks of formerly defeated that showed great prowess, courage etc. Way, way ahead of his time in that regard.

I think it’s less of Kupe having mixed messages and moreso him knowing he’s about to get absolutely trampled and he’s trying to do anything he can to convince the almighty Horse Man to not use his litter-free wonder filled coast as their new stomping grounds

I have yet to watch the video, but I am glad to see some Deity++ runs again! It is more enjoyable to watch when it is more challenging to beat the game.

8:25 If I remember correctly, the bonus combat strength of Mongolia applies to religious units too. Which makes Mongolia a very strong religious civ.

One fun thing to do with Mongolia is if the ai has a trading post in your city so you lose the Diplo visibility bonus. You gift them the city with the trading post in exchange for all their stuff then go to war and take it back last

6:17 FYI, AI and city states also spawn with settlers, so you wouldnt see it on the settler lense on turn 1 and personally i think i would have settled on the floodplain to the right to be able to put a mine on the hill, get floodplains era score and quickly work the wheat after improving it... though of course itd suck to get attacked then x)

The timing on the ending was so mean! Wild start though. It really didn't look promising at all, but the tech tree shuffle really worked out for a streamlined run to a war economy.

For the true shuffle experience you should use shuffle++ mod. It can make stupid maps like in got lakes mod.

Kinda confused why you didn't settle one tile to the right in your capital to keep the hill around! It would still be turn 1 and keep the river.

Well you will always lose at least one population in a flood (assuming city pop above 1) if you do that. But I guess with a high food start that doesn't matter a lot.

I keep watching your old videos on Civ 6 and a lot of them aren’t in playlists and as you’ve played every civ 5+ times it’s confusing when I search for the next video. I don’t know why KZbin isn’t recommending me the next one, I’ve been having to go on your channel and go into the videos section and scroll to the month the video was released. Anyway, it’d be really awesome if you’d go back and fix the descriptions with correct playlists.

The more I play the more I think Religious Settlements is overrated versus holy site adjacency pantheons. I would've gone Dance of the Aurora here. Having high faith for monumentality and having work ethic using that high adjacency is just better. The gamble is that you'll get the golden age which isn't always possible, but you'd definitely still have benefited in a big way from Work Ethic here. I know you are Mongolia but I can't see early war playing out well without good early production or chops.
