Yes but at the same time that was an exploit which Lewis played into quite a bit. And they did state the first game is only there to discover and have fun with exploits which then would be ruled out in further games. Meaning that exploit wouldn't even be used. While War Weariness was pretty good in the fact it gave an actual deterrant to just building an army and going hey let's go to war and win the game because there's no downside to it!!

In Empire Total War there was a public order thing where if you were winning a war, people would actually become happier. I think it was called "Patriotic Fervor," so I think if war weariness worked like that, as long as you were winning you are either base happy or _more happy_, that would be a better mechanic. I also think it should scale with era, as previously stated by some other people. From none or negligible in the early eras to very prominent by the modern, but still having the pluses to winning as I've stated.

Notice a lot of complaints about removing war weariness, but for a "Warmongers" game i think its ideal. This way they shouldnt be discouraged from large scale and early wars, backstabs, sudden attacks, cold war situations, and skirmishes. Im expecting something similar to the Hundred Years War between the big hitters here. Two major players and their temporary allies drifting in and out of all out war but never accepting a lasting peace. Excited to see how this goes.

It slows down regular production in lieu of military production, which makes sense. The production penalty in game is hardly even noticeable anyway, and it's balanced because it affects both players in war.

Like they explain in the vid, even if your side is winning and you barely lose any troops, your country still suffers huge penalties. And it lasts for an absurd amount of time. 100 years after the war would have ended, things would have started going back to normal.

Tom has a terrible start. I didn't think it was possible to start in a place with no fresh water access. He'll be population capped in his capital for most of the early to mid game. His best bet will be to spam settlers from the capital to minimise population growth reduction whilst making other cities into more productive cities. It's not even a particularly good Petra city; mostly flat featureless desert.

I think that war wariness should go up if you lose more Units/Cities/Population/Pillaged tiles so your population is getting angry if you lose a lot in the war.

That is what war wariness is, but sadly there is no good way to get rid of it. Even after a war the weariness does not go away that fast. And if you are in a prolonged war that you didn't start you are basically screwed and will start to fall behind everyone else not at war. In civ 4 there was ways to lower war weariness, but they added no such thing in civ 6 :/

I think weariness should change depending on where your fighting. If you're fighting in your home territory you're just defending yourself so you should get none or barely any. If you're fighting in neutral territory it's a skirmish, you're waring but not too badly, but if you're fighting in someones elses lands against them and attacking their cities that's when you should get full war weariness because you're directly trying to take them over.

I'm happy that the Russian Civilization is in play in this series, as they are honestly powerful if played right, but utterly disappointed that it's Pyrion playing them, because I know he's just going to fuck up and fail to capitalize on the potential might of the Russians. Makes me wish that Russia ended up being played by someone else, like Lewis, Ben, or Sjin. So sad.

Being at war doesn't mean you're building units to maintain an army, esp. not in civ 5. I had like 3 or 4 units defending my empire while I was building a wonder in my capital and some random buildings in my other 2 cities against a massive Roman army, about 20 units in size, at the same tech level as my units. I survived and got the wonder. Make any sense? Nope. Did it happen? Yes, because the Roman AI don't know how to build Barracks apparently.
