The reason they play on Pangea is because if one or two players start with a large island to themselves they can quickly build a huge civilisation relatively uncontested and you can't really do anything to stop them. They win the game more or less because of luck. Other maps would be fun but this way keeps the game fair and interesting. They explained it on one of their live streams

I liked that whole fire discussion. I personally think that an early human species like Homo Erectus or whatever discovered how to create fire by accident/realization. One of them probably sat in the camp, making flint spearheads or arrowheads, and then noticed that when he/she struck the flint with the other rock, then sparks were produced. I think they had a "hang on a minute" moment and tried aiming the sparks at something flammable and then discovered a way to create fire. That's at least what makes the most sense to me.

Why do people say that faith is terrible? With desert folclore or dance of aurora, enough desert/tundra tiles and right civics it's not unreasonable to get over 100 faith per turn at turn 80 (quick speed). And if you get Jesuit Education you can then buy every science or culture building for faith and with Theocracy you can buy military units for faith. You will have enough faith for complete scientific, cultural and military domination. It's pretty good.

the conversation at 9:00 made me want to see a mod for prehistorical civilization game LOL. like a civ caveman lore , make really basic detailed steps for primitive technology. like start from able to get extra food after wild fire, and get the tech to preserve wild fire and keep it going for use, to fully able to start fire any time, and learn to control burn an area. and different spear head and shaft technology, like different head material and ways to lunching a ranged weapon (goes all the way up to simple archery). bit of prehistory nerd rageee here.

FortisConscius Not always the case. Unless growth has been DRASTICALLY changed, which I believe it hasn't, going Tall means a much higher production, just not as much coming out at the same time. One of the few ways to get MASSIVE cities in Civ V. I remember playing as a Tall China and getting a city of around 40 population.

Luke Fletcher I recommend FilthyRobot's channel for in-depth Civ strategy guides. Wide Vs Tall in Civ VI is like Tradition Vs Liberty in Civ V, sure you could go Liberty but Tradition was slightly better 95% of the time. Going wide is almost always better in Civ VI but unless you're a particularly competitive player, it's probably not going to matter *that* much.

You can change city names! When a city is selected click on the "toggle city details" icon which looks like a scroll and then your city details will appear at the left of the screen. Then click on the city name at the top (next to the picture of a pen) and then edit what you city is called :D If you name a city "Storybrooke" in honour of Regina Mills then I will be your biggest truest fan.
